When a woman is pregnant, almost all of her body changes to help the baby grow.

Your hair might grow well or it might start falling. You might have a shiny face or get serious acne.

Your eye sight gets a little blurred. Your heart almost works twice as hard as before to pump blood to the baby and you. Your lungs get squished into a small space.

Your sense of smell would shoot up , your nose might even get bigger because of the build up of mucous tissues. Your entire genre of favorite food might change.

You might get severe headaches. It could become hard to concentrate on any task. Your brain becomes a little sluggish.

And your entire digestive system, slows down. Thanks to progesterone, whatever you eat will cause severe heart burn. You might get morning sickness or serious vomiting and nausea issue.

The Intestines are moved behind to give space for the baby. You might face diarrhoea or constipation.

You might gain weight and you might loose weight. Your gums might bleed. You start craving for random foods which you absolutely hated some months ago.

Your feet might grow another size and swollen feet somehow becomes a normal thing.

You need to pee every 10 minutes, as the bladder is pressed by the growing baby.

Your entire centre of gravity of your body changes. Your back starts bearing the weight.

All the ligaments in your body becomes loose leading to your duck walk.

You might loose your night time sleep. You might get low blood pressure or high blood pressure.

Thanks to the hormones, mood swings become your everyday struggle. You become emotional and anxious.

And god forbid that you fall sick during this period. Your immune system is compromised to let the baby grow, as the baby is a foreign body, our body reduces the immunity guard to prevent rejection of the baby by our own anti bodies. Now, if you get a small fever, it would shoot up to a heavy illness, as you can't take any strong medication and your body's immunity is also not working properly. It might take weeks to recover from a simple cold.

And as you progress, hemorrhoids start showing up as pressure on your pelvic muscles and ass increases.

You'll gain weight or you'll loose weight. Your face might swell, making you look like a completely different person.

You can't sleep in the position you want, you'll need a million pillows to find the best position to fall asleep and then you'll be waking up in a minute to pee.

You'll be counting and timing baby's movements meticulously. Becoming stressed and anxious whenever you see a different pattern in their activity.

Did I talk about the tender boobs that hurt like a bitch and are growing out of your bra size?

At each ultra sound scan, you'll be entering with so much doubts and fear, if the baby is gaining weight properly, is the baby's growth good enough, does the baby have sufficient amniotic fluid, is the baby's heartbeat good? Is the baby's position normal?.....

The worst part, the baby might decide to come out through the sunroof and you end up with a major abdominal surgery, permanently damaging your abdominal muscles and a scar.

And even if the baby does come out through the right door, you might still face perineal tear, episiotomy, weakened core muscles, urine incontinence etc etc.

But on the sunny side, you are blessed to be a new mom! , you are gifted with post partum depression, stretch marks, anemia, diastis recti, engorged and leaky boobs, permanent back pain and a new born baby who knows nothing but crying.

Then, Why do people glorify pregnancy?

Because, come on, in all honesty, if women really knew how hard it was, nobody would be doing it! And our population would have gone down.

But, the mankind sustains era after era, because women are strong and are ready to go through everything for their little love, to carry and nurture new life, making her the ultimate embodiment of resilience and love.

Nah, it's the hormones messing with our heads.

Happy pregnancy!
