In this chapter, I tried to do more dialogues. We'll see how it goes

There was nothing...

But darkness...

Marshall POV

I was stirred from my slumber to see a room filled with nothing but white tiles and...

"Huh???"

"Ughh. It's so bright out here... Where... Where am I?  Why am I not in... Never mind. There are other things to worry about... Wait, white room??? Not in uniform?? And no one's here?? Oh sh*t... IM DEADDDD!!! I... I... No..."

My eyes started to swell up in tears mixed with variant emotions: confusion, disappointment, anger, and sadness all together. I'd let my family down... Oh my, is that kid safe? God... I don't feel good...

"Chase?? Ryder!!? Anyone??"

There was no one...

The room was nothing but purity... As if I'm in solitary confinement

But then I saw something, or someone, or some pup walking ever so gently towards me. The pup had white-crystal fur suppressing her vivid radiant smile , paired with her eyes tainted in the color of dark blue sky.  Her soft paws stepped on the white tiles, and her giggles and laughs... Reminded me of a pup that I'm fond of.

Marshall "Everest??? EVEREST, IS THAT YOU??"

"I am not, Marshall..."

Marshall: "Eve it's--- Wait, you're not her... You're"

"You"

Marshall: " You can't be... I'm ME  - The clumsiest, the dumbest yet charming Dalmatian in Adventure Bay, even Everest likes who I am! I am fortunately gifted... Oops, said too much."

"I could say the same thing; I can't be you. I'm just a part of you. But it wouldn't matter anyway. You're too stubborn to listen to a stranger's perspecti-"

Marshall started unsheathing his claws, posing threats to whoever she is

Marshall: "I won't ask again. Who... Are... You... Doppelganger!?"

"Your stubbornness is unbearable. Enough blabbering, whether you listen or not it's up to you. The World's Demise is imminent, and you won't be able to stop.  At least, you won't be alone in attempting to prevent the chaos that is about to unfold."

Marshall: "... What in the Dingglehead nonsense bullshit are you spilling about? You'd better start talking. NOW!"

In the tapestry of fate, our threads are spun

Destiny's Dance, a journey begun

Through the veils of time, where shadows grope

We navigate the delicate balance of destiny and hope

In the silent embrace where shadows wreathe

Death whispers, a bittersweet sheath.

Yet, amid the darkness, a resilient light,

Hope springs eternal, in the face of night.

The doppelganger figure vanished in thin air, only leaving a whisper in the air

"Marshall... I hope you find me"

What the---

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Third Person POV

The fire diminished significantly, till there was none left. The explode-o-water Zuma and Rocky came in handy after all. The child was safely rescued. Even though the mansion has burned into crips with some belongings unrecoverable, everyone was safe and sound now. The mission was a success, right???

Chase POV

I was still startled by the loss of a friend, or at least I thought I lost him... He should have died right?? He should have been engulfed by the flames... How come... Was it a miracle??? I shook my head and decided to put that thought aside; I had a friend in need... I walked out of the ashes of the leftover building and saw Marshall on a stretcher with an oxygen mask.

Chase: "How is he..."

Rocky: "Other than a few bruises, he managed to not get any degree of burns... Surprisingly"

Zuma: "Yeah **cough** dude, but how??

Chase: "I have to speak to Ryder."

The rest of the pups, even Rubble as a bystander, just stared at Chase confused, like the German Shepherd had seen a ghost too difficult to comprehend...

Rubble: "Chase, is everything... Alright?"

Chase: "Yea... Everything will be alright..."

I saw Ryder stroking the unconscious Dalmation's head  with love and sympathy...

Poor pup... I shouldn't have let him go in there... If I were in that situation, I would do the same thing for you. Over. And overr again

He thought

"How is he Ryder???"

"He's alright. Thank the heavens." Ryder responded in a swift

"About that. Notice how he hasn't gotten any burn marks?"

"What about it??"

"He's... Had this shield of flames surrounding him... Not a shield, it's more of a bubble actu- To be honest, I don't know anymore. The logic doesn't apply here. It's not like he's got superpowers or anything right? He's just a regular pup... Our clumsy pup..."

Ryder saw me pondering on my thoughts having second doubts, knowing his best Dalmatian pal isn't what he seemed to be.

Ryder: "You're thinking he hasn't spilled everything when we first met him at the beach shores"

Chase: "It was weird to find a pup washed up on the shore, shouldn't anyone have noticed Marshall that time? It's like they didn't even realise there was a stray pup at the shore "

Ryder: "Hmm... Maybe because the citizens really didn't know, but that made no sense... Or...

Chase: Was Marshall there by coincidence? Maybe he wasn't just a regular stray dog on the beach...

Chase: "Why don't we interrogate him once he wakes up, Ryder sir?"

Ryder: "Chase, don't "interrogate" your best friend, especially at this time. He'll be pressured."

Chase: "Alright, we'll give him time to recover. Then we'll question him, every bits of details. Hopefully he'll tell us... Everything"

Ryder: "Chase, do not let your emotions get to you. Understand? You'll only hurt yourself more than you hurt him. And since when did this get personal to you???"

"It's a cop's duty to unravel truths and bring justice right? He's probably someone else... Or some-THING-"

"Son... You're not thinking straight. He's your play pal Dalmatian... Don't you-'"

Don't... What...
