I'm woken up by a door creaking open. Sun shone through the window, right in my eyes.
"Jesus Camden," Joe says, and I sit up. My head was pounding and everything seemed to be louder than normal.
Despite my eyes being shut, I know Joe is standing behind me. I lean back into him and he puts his hands on my shoulders.
"I figured you'd come get in bed," he rubs a soothing hand up and down my arm.
"Didn't get that far," I say before groaning, "don't let me drink, ever again."
"I didn't even know you were drinking until I got home," a chuckle erupts through his body. He leans down and kisses the top of my head, "Are you hungover?"
"That was a stupid question," I swing my legs over the bench and turn around, "I'm sorry, I'm just in a bad mood."
"It's okay," he chuckles and bends down, wrapping his arms under mine and around my back, "Hold on."
I wrap my arms and legs around him and he picks me up and we go into the bedroom.
"Do you remember anything you said last night?" He asks hesitantly as he sits me down on the bed.
I nod and grimace, "Every single word."
"I know you're freaked out," he says, trying to find something to go along with it, "but...we will go slow...because I don't want to scare you off."
"Something like this couldn't scare me off," I grin, "it just makes me anxious. It feels like we have a million eyes on us at all times."
"Yeah I know what you mean," he walks over to his dresser and looks at a picture frame of him and Robin, "didn't you say that your parents have a house in Maine?"
"Yeah, on the water, why?" I get cozy in the bed and look over to him.
He turns around, "We should go stay for a couple of days. We're on a bye, so I don't have scheduled workouts."
"The wedding is Saturday," I sit up on my arm and he walks over to the bed.
"We need some time," he sits down and puts a hand on my leg, "I've barely seen you"
Between his pleading eyes and the headache I had, I chose the easiest option, "I'll talk to Ella."
"Mm," he grins because he knows she'll say yes. Ella is the type of person that when she's nervous for something, she likes to be left alone. Hence the lack of a wedding shower and a bachelorette party.
He hands me his phone, seeing as though mine was dead, and I type in Ella's number.
"Jesus, Joe, what do you need this early?"
I jokingly scoff, "Elizabeth, I just wanted to talk to you."
"Oh," she chuckles, "of course, Cam, go ahead."
"So, Joe wants to go to the Maine house for a couple days, is that disrespectful to you and Ty?"
"Hell no, get your ass on that plane and do not call me again," she says quickly.
"Okay," I say hesitantly, "I guess we'll be back Thursday. Or is that too close to the wedding?"
"Cam, I'll be fine. Enjoy your private time, you need it. You've been so stressed out lately that it's making me stressed."
I chuckle dryly, "Great, okay. If you're %100 sure that you're okay with it, then we'll probably leave today."
"Of course I'm okay with it," she scoffs, "don't ask again. I love you, Camden. I'll see you Thursday."
