chapter 1 - Blair Household

Getting off the train sophie sighed a sigh of relief because she was finally home. Yes of course she had a house but the Blair household could not be described as a home. Her mother Katherine Blair was a Pure-blooded Ravenclaw and her father Edward Blair was a Pure-blooded Slytherin.

Sophie was disgusted when she grew up and realised what it meant to be Pure-blood. 11 years old was when Sophie first started to rebel. She started Hogwarts and got sorted into Gryffindor. This did not go down very well at home as her mother viewed Gryffindor as a stupid, incompetent house to be sorted into and her father's prejudice against the house didn't help. At this age sophie realised that her parents love for her which there was little of to begin with had finally diminished. Yes of course they could act like they loved her in front of others but the slight look of disgust which would occupy her parents face whenever she was seen or even worse if she dared to speak told her otherwise.

The emotional abuse had always been there but due to how young sophie was she had never really realised it. The physical abuse never started until she came home christmas of 2nd year. That was when she really started to form her own opinions and she made the mistake of letting those opinions be known.

The first time it happened they had been having a discussion at the dinner table and her mother began speaking about a murder which occurred where two muggle-born wizards lost their lives. Her father could hardly wipe the smile from his face as he started rambling on about how amazing this was and going on about someone who he referred to as 'the dark lord' and how this mysterious lord would be in charge soon enough. Sophie didn't sit with it for too long before she decided to make a comment. She told him about her negative opinions on this so called 'dark lord' and she told him how disgusted she was with him as muggle-born wizards had done nothing to him. This didn't sit well with Edward and he let it be known to the whole table as before Sophie could blink she felt the pain. It felt like she was on fire. She screamed out but all she got in return was her mother looking down on her with the usual disgusted face and her father laughing like a child with his wand pointed at her. Her father's face lit up with glee as he realised the new 'skill' he had 'unlocked'. You see Edward was an evil man yes but sophie never thought he would harm her. This incident gave him the confidence to 'punish' her every time he saw fit. So when Sophie leaves Hogwarts to go to the Blair residence she had to keep her tongue from slipping up and "disgracing her family name" as her father would put it.

Luckily her parents are not normally at the house when she comes back for the holidays. She doesn't normally leave Hogwarts for the holidays except from in summer. This summer had been just like the rest. Her sitting in the Blair household wishing nothing else but to be gone from that wretched place. Her days were filled with wandering the empty halls longing to be back at the warmth of Hogwarts. Her evenings were filled with dinner parties and prestigious balls with some of the most evil people in the wizarding world. Her nights were filled with torture. Her father would find anything she had done wrong, or make something up to try and validate all those nights of torture she had to endure. Any excuse to try and break her into believing his beliefs. Her mother did participate in the torture from time to time but would never be as extreme as her father would.

She had been made a victim to the cruciatis curse a total of 3 times. The first time was during summer at the end of 2nd year when she had had enough of the torture and decided she would say something. This ended in her on her bedroom floor for 4 days before her mother finally permitted a house elf to come and help her.

The second time he used it was christmas of 3rd year. She had been at a dinner party at the Black residence where she had been speaking to a girl who was in her 7th year in Hogwarts. Her father was very proud of her for finally getting on with a noble person from the Slytherin house. This was the only time in Sophie's life he had ever been proud of her. That was of course until the rumours reached him. The young girl she had been talking to was named Andromeda Black. The rumours were that Andromeda was talking with a 'mud blood' named ted tonks. Edward felt that sophie might start to get ideas about this and he set an end to that before she could even begin to think about mudbloods. That time she was left on her bedroom floor for a full week before her mother even thought about unlocking her door. Though Sophie wouldn't have been able to do anything about it as she couldn't get herself off the floor never mind try for the door.

The third and most recent time was only a couple of months ago. Summer after 4th year. Some anonymous source had told her father that she had been speaking with a half-blood. The source had made it seem as if Sophie had already set a date for their wedding and had planned to runaway with the boy. In actuality she had asked the boy if they had potions homework due. Sophie had came home for her to feel the use of the curse on her before she could even get a word in. She didn't even get the time to hold up to her room. She was on the stone floor lying in pain in the middle of the foyer, blood splattered all around her. She could barely get her eyes open but because she was already familiar with this pain she was somewhat prepared. As she got her eyes opened she seen her father was not the one doing this unforgivable curse. He was laughing at the side. The woman doing this was her parents good friend Walburga Black. She had a smirk on her face. Her resemblance with her niece bellatrix was uncanny. Though Sophie didn't have the time to think about that she had about three seconds before the pain made her go into a numb state of unconsciousness. Before her eyes had slipped shut she seen the light shine out of her father's wand. She had never felt the pain of two people using the curse on her. She was moved as to mot disturb the parties the Blair family had planned. She got put on the floor on her bedroom like she was used to. She lay unconscious for 3 days. When she awoke she couldn't move due to the pain. She lay on that floor for a total of 9 days. When she finally could move it was very little movement. She spent all summer recovering. Her father's regular torture didn't help the recovery. To this day she is still trying to figure out who the anonymous source was.

Sophie usually tried not to reminisce about these incidents. So as she stepped off the train and let out her sigh of relief she tried not to think about the fresh scars on her back. Luckily they were covered by the fabric of her shirt. Instead she thought about getting to school and seeing her one and only friend olivia 'oli' kennedy. Oli had been Sophie's only friend ever since they started Hogwarts. Oli was a half-blood therefore Sophie couldn't contact her outside of school. Thats another one of the reasons she preferred to stay at Hogwarts during the Holidays. After being on the platform for at least 7 minutes Oli and sophie finally spotted each other. Oli ran to hug her. Sophie tried not to feel the oh too fresh scars being pressed further into her skin. Instead she tried to be happy that she was finally home.

I know theres no remus but i thought i should deal with Sophie and her home life first any mistakes please point them out as my proof-reading skills aren't always that great.
