Neuvillette's mind is a mess after she left his office that day. How could he have let himself lose her like this?

He spends the days thinking, and the nights wishing that, somehow, she would come back to him. He even tries to convince himself that she would, one day, return. But as the days went by and she didn't return once, he began to doubt she ever would...

He still hopes.

At Elpida's side

She was trying to return back to her old life, her simply and easy life she had, she made new friends, she tried to date someone (but you know what happened, the Melusine was followed her around and they told everything to Neuvillette, it was their job after all, and all this cycle was happening again and again)

Neuvillette made sure to always be up to date regarding her. He had the Melusines follow her around and report everything to him. That's how he knew she was trying to move on; the reports he received from the Melusines.

It was torture for him, seeing her with another man, with friends he had never met or seen before. She was his. He would not let her slip away from him.

He would win her back no matter what it took.

Elpida was walking around the city one day, mind her own business as she noticed one of Melusines was followed her like always,"Hey there melusine, nice day today, right?"Elpida said as she turned to look at the little guard

The tiny guard would bow towards Elpina politely. "Hello, Miss Elpida. It truly is a wonderful day." They would say, their tone friendly and cheerful as always, though they clearly weren't supposed to talk to Elpida too much.

She smiles gently."I wanted to ask you, why are you following me around all the time? Maybe it's just my imagination, but I was curious," she said as she kneels in front of the Melusine

The Melusine would stay silent for a bit, a bit taken back by Elpida's kindness. Finally, she spoke up. "Well, we are instructed by Chief Justice Neuvillette to always ensure your safety, Miss Elpida. It's our duty to protect you."

"I understand that this is yours job, but I'm not the only preson in Fontaine. there are many others that need protection, too. Thank you for watching me over, but I can handle myself just prefect," elpida said as she placed her hand on melusine head and patted it gently

The Melusine was stunned. Usually, people would try to ignore her. She was used to that. But here, right now?

She looked up to Elpida with brightening eyes, a smile on her face as the Chief's orders flashed in her ears-protect Miss Elpidia at all costs.

"Please, Miss Elpida, do not make our job harder than it already is. It is our duty to keep you safe, no matter what."

"I understand completely, but don't worry, your little head of yours, I'm doing just fine, if I need help I would had told you myself, but now it's not used to" elpida said as she stand up on her own two feed and she looks down at the melusine with a sweet smile on her face

Melusine's eyes sparkle when she hears Elpida's words. In that instant, the little guard wants to run to Neuvillette and tell him:

"Chief has been worrying non-stop for Miss Elpida for days and nights now! He barely sleeps since he wants to ensure her safety at all times! He even tried to come see Miss Elpida when she was alone, but he couldn't for unknown reasons. If only Miss Elpida would see how he cares so deeply for her! Then-"

"---- please, I don't want to hear about it, just, please tell Neuvillette that, if he won't stop what he doing right now, I will go to the archon herself and ask her to deal with this matter" elpida said as she walk away and continue her day
