Denki was 9 and alone. He was depressed. Unwilling to do anything, not even read the rest of the books 'Lavender' left him. He couldn't bring himself self to, they made him think of her. Who did he have left, Sero? No, Sero probably had forgotten all about him. So he was just simply alone. Having nothing to live for. At one point he just stopped eating. Which was actually killing him. Not that Denki cared. It didn't matter to him, but to Overhaul? It mattered a lot. If Denki died then 1/3 of his electricity would be gone. As a direct result of Denki's eating habits, he produced less electricity already having to put them back on the grid.
In a last-ditch attempt to get Denki out of his depression so he could get back to work, Overhaul gave him a friend.

"Her name is Eri, make sure to play nice!" And with that, the door closed Leaving the two inside alone.
"H- Hello, what's your name?" Denki shifted in the corner of which he was to look at her. She was a girl much younger than him, having light blue hair and red eyes. The first thing he had consciously noted about her appearance was the horn sticking out from the front of her hairline. 'That must be part of her quirk' he thought. "I'm Denki". Then there was silence, a very awkward one to say the least. None of them knew what to say. So Denki turned away and continued to stare into nothing, Eri taking the time to take in her surroundings as she scanned the room. There was a bed in the corner opposite of Denki, a few stuffed animals on it, and a blanket. Next to the bed an assortment of books varying through subjects and stories, one of which caught her eye.
"Sleeping Beauty-" Eri intended for the sentence to form in her mind, but had subconsciously said it aloud. How loud she said it surprised herself, instantly cutting off. From the corner, Denki turned to look at her quickly as the sound also startled him. Eri Turned away from the books to face Denki, looking him dead in the eyes. ' "Do you like that story?" Eri nodded. "Me too it's one of my favorites!" Denki said while walking over to the corner of the books, he felt a bit sad looking through the books to find Sleeping Beauty. "Do you want to read it with me?" Eri nodded her head again. Denki Thought of how her meek personality reminded him so much of his own sister. God, he missed her.

"...And they all have to happily ever after, the end." Eri had fallen asleep on Denki's right shoulder. Denki missed the comfort of being with another person brought. He vowed that from that day forward he would protect Eri to the best of his ability without fail,
