" Wake up kids, you can't be late for school. The carriage is gonna leave soon." Mom said. The stomping sounds of children were heard as each child came downstairs, dressed in appropriate uniforms for school.
" Good morning children," Nene said. As a form of respect, everyone was expected to courtesy or bow in respect of the reigning, or current queen. After breakfast, the kids grabbed their backpacks and headed out the door to the yellow carriage with a sword and a flower embedded in the center. At school, Anita balances a book on her head to practice her posture. " Very good, I'm impressed." Madame Caroline, Anita's manners teacher, says. " Thank you, Madame Caroline," Anita said, slightly curtsying. In Basic Etiquette, the students imagine that they're at a state dinner with their parents.
" What is the purpose of the soup spoon?" Mr. Henry asked. " The spoon is for gently eating your soup. The soup must be cooled to 40 degrees Fahrenheit before you consume it." Mary, crown princess of Dundridge, said. " That is correct, very nice job Miss Mary." Mr. Henry said. After a long day of school, Anita and James went home and took a short break before heading to Spanish lessons with Mistress Heather. " Hola, Como estas?" Mistress Heather asked. " Esta bien, pero un poco cansada." Anita said. " Muy bien Anita. That earns a gold star." Mistress Heather said.
" Gracias, Mistress Heather. I think that's enough lessons for today. Time to go home and relax before dinner." Dad said. At the table, the kids are taught how to sit with a straight spine eat with utensils, and use napkins.
" Luckily, the school teaches you how to use basic etiquette at home and school during lunch so you don't mess up your uniform because of spaghetti or Italian pasta sauce from those gourmet lunches that the staff provides us with. The meals are homemade to ensure that there are no nasty chemicals or substances in the food. The lunch crew are paid generously and they get breaks when there aren't any students around." Anita said. " Yeah, the staff wake up every day and make lunches... some of them are picky about what they like to eat because we're getting the next generation of rulers ready to take over their respective kingdoms and become a king or a queen who needs to have the fundamentals of being an amazing ruler who knows how to handle pressure from the crowd while doing what we need to do," James said. " I'm gonna be a great ruler because I can be silly and change my mood instantly when the cameras are around with the newspeople," Gianna said. " Gianna, you're not really... mature. You like to laugh a lot and make silly faces at the cameras when you're supposed to smile and be still." Anita said. " I know  I can be a grown-up but I wanna play and have fun," Gianna said. " Gianna, you're part of a generation of royalty so you need to act like it, meaning more maturity and knowing when to bow and curtsy to the crowd." Mom said. " I know Mom, but I wanna have fun," Gianna said. " Gigi, you're part of the next generation of top-notch royals. You guys can't take any days off because you guys have school and professional obligations to attend to so you can't be frowning at the cameras and not following royal rules. After all, you don't want to disappoint your country and disappoint the royal family's name. That's bad because we've worked hard to get to where we are." Dad said.
