CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
{REUNITED}song: dai the flu - deftones
October 1984★
THESE PAST COUPLE of months have passed by excruciatingly slow without the guys here to keep us entertained. We have called almost every day, yet it's never enough.
To pass the time, I've been spending extra hours at work for a little more cash, or Josie and I have been hogging up the Jackson residence. Willow wouldn't be at home most of the time, since she went back to uni, yet there we were, always spending time with her family at her house.
The few times I'd be on my own, I work on my songs. I feel like I'm almost with my album, but I need James to help me. He has a knack for those sort of things, even if it's not his genre of music.
Bruce has been wonderful company. Even though people are always afraid of him because of his size, he's actually quite gentle. Just the other day, I visited my mom for the first time in a while, and I brought Bruce along with me 'cause my brother adores him.
A few kids saw Kai playing with him outside and they were terrified of him, but Kai convinced them that he's actually very sweet and harmless. They spent most of the afternoon chasing and playing with Bruce.
It was sort of awkward with my mom for the first hour, but when it passed, things started to go a lot smoother. I told her all about my new little group and our recent trip and she said she'd hope to meet them one day, but for that to ever happen, I'd have to prepare at least a month before so that the guys would know what words they're not allowed to say in front of my mom.
My mom started talking to me about a guy she started seeing, which was very unexpected because Marissa Parker was never the type to share, especially her love life. She believes things are getting serious and she'd like for me to meet him, and as happy as I am for her, I don't think I could ever get used to my mom with another man.
