Under The Mistletoe (Special Chapter)

"I'm missing you, My sweets."  nakanguso ang kasintahan niya habang kausap niyo ito sa cellphone niya.

"Don't miss me too much. I'll be back in time for Christmas." She smiled while trying to console her boyfriend.

"Promise?" He asked. 

Hindi pa rin mawala ang nakabusangot na expresyon nito. Napangiti na lang siya. Meron kasi siyang pupuntahan na family reunion sa probinsya nila pero babalik din siya bago mag pasko napag-usapan na nila na magkasama sila mag celebrate ng Christmas.

"Promise. Kapag nandito na ako hindi mapapansin na umalis ako."

"Anong ginagawa mo diyan ngayon?"

"Ito na mimiss kita." sabay paulan ng flying kiss. 

Nararamdaman niya nag-iinit ang pisngi niya at napanguso siya. Ang cheesy talaga ng kasintahan niya ngunit ma keso ang mga hirit nito. Kinikilig pa rin siya.

"Seryoso nga, My sweets. Ano?"

"Ito babysitter."

"Huh?" napakunot ang noo niya.  

Pagkakaalam niya wala namang bata sa pinsan ni Manolo. Karamihan sa kanila ay working na rin at wala pa namang mga anak ang pinsan nito.

Medyo nalito siya noong na flip iyong view ng camera videocall nila at nakita isang binata na nasa sulok habang naglalaro ng PS5. Pansin niya na wala itong paki masyado sa paligid.

"I don't think he needs baby sitting from you."

"Tell me about it. Figures..."

"Pinsan mo? I remember meeting your cousins but I don't remember meeting him."

"Yes, pinsan ko sa side ni Papa. He wasn't into family gatherings and all. Tita insisted na makipag bond ako. I don't think he's interested in my company."  kibit balikat na tugon ni Manolo.

"Patience...My sweets. It takes time for people to warm up to others baka ganun din siya."

"You're right. I might bring him sa show gig ni Apollo para makalabas din siya ng bahay. Ang dalang niya rin lumabas ng bahay."

"That's good. Have fun! Message mo ako later kung nakauwi na kayo. Love you."

"I love you more, My Sweets."

Sheena is walking on her way to the restaurant when she sees a familiar figure at the entrance.

His eyes sparkled at the sight of her. She quickly walked at a fast pace. Hindi niya inalintana na baka matalisod siya o masubsob sa lupa.

Puno ng kasiyahan ang puso niya na makita si Manolo kahit ilang araw lang naman sila hindi nagkita nanabik siya na makasama ito.

She was welcome in his warm embrace. She hugged him tight. She looked up and saw his face closely.

She gave him a peck on his cheeks. He looked surprised with the gesture. She giggled in his reaction.

"Whoaa... you're getting bolder by the day, My Sweets."

"You look sad standing under the mistletoe. You deserve some love."

"I don't think that will be enough though. May I?"

She nodded and closed her eyes. She felt his lips on her forehead then next to her cheeks. Lastly, he kissed her on the lips and she attentively wrapped her arms around his neck.

With that they celebrate the night and cross out one of the firsts together. Looking forward to another year together by their side.
