Going Insane (little nightmares school au before pale city becomes deformed)

When it all began

The class clock ticked loudly. All the students where impatient for the class to end. Hunter looked at the window. The weather was horrible. Then he looked at Anne (the future teacher). She was paying attention to what the teacher said, like always. But something was off. He could tell that something was bugging her. She was constantly glancing towards Mono. Hunter loooked in Mono's direction and then he noticed: something was clearly wrong. He was not being his usual cheerful self. His hands were covering his face, like he was struggling just by being there, and we was muttering strange things to himself.

The class alarm ringed. Anne went quickly towards Hunter's desk. 

-You saw that, didn't you? What's up with Mono?-

He looked at her. She was too close to him. Her short, brown hair covering her pale, determined face. She was taller than him, so she had to look down to talk to him. Hunter found this very attractive. He looked away.

-Uhh, y-yeah I saw it. But I wouldn't worry too much. Mono's always been a bit strange.-

She looked concerned.

-We should go talk to him. Who knows, maybe his parents have been fighting again.-

Hunter nodded and they walked towards Mono, but he got up and left the classroom. Hunter and Anne looked at eachother, and then followed him down the stairs. The school corridors were very crowded, so it was very hard to spot Mono, thankfully, he was much taller than the rest, so they could see his head from behind.

-Hey guys! Wait for me! Where are you going?- said Otto (future doctor), running behind them. He was covered in sweat. It was hard for such a chubby kid to run long distances like that.

The three of them run as fast as they could through the corridors, but people kept coming out of the classes, blocking thair way. When they finally made it to the playground, Mono was already gone.

-It's okay. I'll be going to his house later this afternoon to do a project anyways. I'll ask him there- said Hunter. Anne and Otto looked at him concerned and nodded.

-Fine. See you tomorrow- they said goodbye to eachother and left on their own paths.

Hunter walked through pale city, alone. The city was quieter than usual, and the weather was getting worse, so he hurried to get on the tram that left him on the outskirts of the city. The tram was nearly empty. There was only a couple sitting behind him and a weird lady looking out the window on his right. The tram finally stopped on the final destination. Hunter was alone with the lady. As he got up to leave the train, he noticed the piercing look of the lady behind his back. He turned around and what he saw left him shocked. The lady's face was completely disfigured. She didn't even have a face, it was all pure flesh, twisting and twitching. That thing made deep screeching noises, that made Hunter's head hurt. He ran, ran for his life. He ran to his boat, completely terrified, his heart pounding loudly, his ears ringing, his head spinning. 

He started rowing for his life, but he couldn't see the lady anymore. Finally, he reached his hut in the forest. He locked the door and sat on the sofa. What did just happen? Did he just imagine that? Something was wrong, and that woman had clearly affected his brain. He felt like he had to puke. He got up and headed to the bathroom. He saw his face in the mirror. His black eyes were bloodshot, his face was pale. All the scars in his strong arms where white. His messy brown hair was messier than usual. He held to the sink and finally puked. When he finally felt better, he headed to the living room and put the tv on. A broadcast was on.

The man on the tv spoke: The doctor of pale city assures that some kind of new disease has been spreading these days. It's recognizable because the symptoms are face disfigurement, and loss of control. If you know someone like this, please help him seek medical help, and if you start having very strong headaches, you should seek medical attention yourself. Stay safe, pale city.

Hunter went pale, and his head started hurting.
