Paige pov
Today we are going against NC state and they are playing dirty. I really wish I could play but Ik they are gonna do good without me. Me and Miya are heading to Gampel right now. Miya is a short starter everyone is like 5'10 + and she's only 5'5. The team jokes about her height to her all the time. She may be short but she's a shifty point guard and a good shooter.

Miya pov
I'm getting ready for the game I do my makeup and hair. I ask Paige to get me some water and she gets me a water bottle. I grab the water bottle and drink it. Since I'm done getting ready I just get on my phone and wait for us to go out and do pregame warmups.
(Skip to the start of the game)
they announce starting lineups and the game finally starts. Aaliyah tips the ball to nika, I run to my spot and get open. Nika sees and passes me the ball and I shoot it for the 3. it's NC states ball they shoot but miss I grab the rebound and run down the court passing it to Aubrey who is in front of me and is open, I pass it to her and she makes it in for 2. NC state calls for a timeout. Timeout ends we go back to the court. I throw the ball into Dorka. She passes it to Lou and Lou passes it to me. I drive it in and get the shot and foul. I make both my free throws. The score is 9-2 UConn up by 7.

Paige pov
The score right now is 45-31 UConn up. Its right now NC states ball they bring it down and Miya is guarding the girl with the ball. The girl she is guarding tries to pass it but Miya intercepts and runs down the court and she's running down the court the girl she was guarding runs behind her and when Miya tries to go for the layup  she falls and starts screaming and crying in pain. Our bench gets up fast. Janelle walks over to her and I follow her.

Miya pov
As I'm going up for a layup I fall over and my knee is hurting. I'm screaming and crying cause it hurts so bad. Everyone goes to the bench and the gym in silent.
* Reid intercepts and goes up for a layup and ends up on the floor, she is holding on to her left knee. During her last season she missed 10 games cause of that knee let's hope it's nothing serious.*
"What happen" janelle asked
"Idk but it hurts so bad" i say pounding the floor in pain. Paige kneels down and grabs my hand to try to calm me down.
*Uconns worst nightmare is happening once again, on their star player, Miya Reid*
"Try to get up" janelle says. I try to get up but I can't cause it hurts to bad to put pressure on it.
"I can't it hurts"I say.
"Paige help me get her to the locker room"Janelle tells Paige and Paige helps her. The stadium is clapping and giving me a standing ovation. I look over to our bench and see Nika and Dorka eyes looking teary.
(In the training office)
I sit on the trainer bed with Paige waiting for Janelle to get me ice. Paige is holding my hand. Me and Paige aren't dating we are just very close.
"How you doing"she asks.
" Eh, hope it's not nothing serious" I say.
" yep let's hope" she says and kisses my hand.I smile. Janelle finally comes back.
"You can't play rest of the game" she says as she puts ice on my knee and wraps it so the ice doesn't fall. "Paige can you help her out I need to get back out there?"
"Yea sure" Paige says.After that she goes back out to the game. I get up slowing and Paige grabs my hands and helps me up. She grabs my waist and I look at her smiling.
"Now you get to sit by me rest of the game" she says smiling.
" sadly" I say.
" hey don't go there now Yk you're happy" she says. I just smile and look down. I look back up and see Paige already looking at me. Her eyes go from my eyes to my lips. She licks her lips. I just say fuck it and lean in. We both lean in and our lips touch. It's a slow and passionate kiss. After out kiss we head back out. I grab my warmup and redo my hair.
*here comes Reid back out she will not be returning to tonight's game*

The game is over we won by 13. I head to the locker room with the help of Paige and Nika.
