i've been informed his wings grow out like hair instead of like.. randomly doubling? but HOLY SHIT that still has to be painful, human hair grows out every day, and according to google "Healthy human hair grows at an average rate of 0.01 inch (0.35 millimeters) per day, which adds up to roughly 0.5 inch (13 mm) per month, or 6 inches (15 centimeters) per year" means his wings are still gigantic, and therefore his back is probably killing him-
