Taehyung's heart pounded erratically in his chest, just as it always did when he was thinking about a certain doe eyed beauty. Today however was going to be a little different, not that they were going to be doing anything spectacular. Though, I suppose that would really depend on how you looked at the awakening of a sleeping soul. Taehyung decided to try it by way of a school grounds picnic.
"Are you sure you know what you're doing?" Taehyung's father asked, his expression a little pinched. He was not altogether on board with it. Some things were not to be meddled with, and fate would be one of them.
"No, I don't know what I'm doing, father," he said and continued to pack the wicker hamper with picnic necessities, trying to block out the negativity rolling off his father's stressed body."It's cold outside," his father muttered, in an attempt to put him off the idea. But Taehyung was headstrong, more so now than he'd ever been, and simply raised his shoulders.
"That's why I have this," he said with a small smile, lifting and shaking a soft bundled up picnic blanket.
"Tae-"
"Father, please!" He raised his voice, nerves finally getting the better of him. He tossed the unfolded, pink patterned blanket on the piano seat.
"I have to try. I have to," He turned to face him, his own expression filled with stress, but underneath that, there shone a little hope.
"You don't seem to understand, if you do this you could lose everything. Everything, Taehyung."
"I know that, but if I don't, I could lose it anyway." His voice was soft and pleading, pleading for understanding. Why couldn't he just leave it alone?
Why does he have to be so fucking negative the whole time?
Can't he see that without Jungkook, there was no point in going on?
"I don't know how many times I can do this, how many times we can do this. I'm tired of playing by the rules only for nothing to come of it, at least this way if I lose him again, it'll be on my terms." He poked himself aggressively in the chest.
"I don't want to lose you-"
"You lost me a long time ago," he said in low cracked voice, cutting off his father. He finished packing the hamper, slammed it closed, and walked away, effectively ending the conversation.
Jungkook couldn't have been happier over the past couple of days, even though classes has started back. He faced them with a smile in his heart and a spring in his step, making his friends, not to mention a couple of teachers, wonder if he was on drugs.
What a switch up from the past several weeks, huh? Where he continuously walked around with a face like a wet weekend. There had to be something wrong with that, right? It didn't make sense, but at the same time, he wasn't going to waste any more precious time analysing it.Anyway, Love is a drug isn't it? He thought to himself, and for some strange reason began to bop out to 'Love is the drug' a very old song by his dad's favourite band, Roxy Music.
Isn't it amazing the things that stick in your head and you don't even realise it?He only paid minor lip service, to the ickiness he felt, actually taking in anything his father liked, by way of wrenching out a fake gag, before continuing down the corridor to his next class, PSE, which he hated, but even that didn't impair the bounce in his step.
No, not today.
Yeah, until...
"Hey, Kook," Chanyeol stage whispered, a clandestine expression on his face, as he scooted his seat closer.
"What's up?" Jungkook asked, a bunny smile appearing on his face, as he leaned closer to his class mate.
"Anji, is going around telling everyone that you have a tiny dick," he informed him with a wicked smile.
Jungkook's eyes widened only momentarily as he swung his gaze in the direction of Anji, the said offender of his manhood.
He narrowed his eyes at her, as she drew hers, off him.
"The fuck would she know?" He hissed quietly, turning back to Chanyeol.
"Dude, you really must've pissed her off! What did you do?"
"Not fuck her at Taemin's party?" He asked with a shrug of his shoulders, as that's been about as much interaction he's had with the girl.
