That night, around 3:am, she packed her bags, but not because she was leaving for the institution, but because was leaving home. She refused to be held captive in a school for people like her.
However the minute she stepped out of her bedroom, she heard muffled screams.
She ran to the source; her dad's room where she saw her mother's eyes slip before her eyes as a large husky man strangled her.“ NO!!! ”
“ Jamie? ” her father said weakly. He'd been beaten to a pulp, and thrown aside in one corner. He was trying to reach his phone. Yes!, he could call 911, or his security guards. She could call 911. But before she could even take out my phone from the luggage she packed in her sport bag, where she normally put sports equipment and facilities, face towels, sports wear, etcetera, a solid punch from another one of the burly men, landed on the space between the corner of her eye and her cheekbone.
She skidded across the floor and yelped from the stinging pain and impact from hitting the wall that was to her back. Two burly men came after her, and the 2 others began to focus on her father.“ Run, Jamie. Run! ” he exclaimed
She picked herself up from the floor despite the stinging pain. That punch was stronger than anything she'd ever felt. It was enough to kill a person. So why wasn't I dead? These beings were stronger than humans were supposed to be.
The ringing in her head blurred out most of her father's warnings and generally most of the sound, though she could faintly make out a muffled background.
The dizziness and lightheadedness made it very difficult for her eyes to focus on her surroundings, thus, making it hard for her to run down the stairs.
As she stumbled down the stairwell with her gym bag in hand, she heard a disturbing sound; KPOO!!! and then a bullet buried deep into her left shoulder. She fell and tumbled the remaining path down the stairs. When she got down she clutched her shoulder and cried out in pain. Tears filled her eyes and she yelped as two blades found their way to each side of her ribs. But she couldn't die now. She had to stay alive, for the sake of her parents, so she could get her revenge when she was all healthy and stronger.
She knew better than to remove the knives, she'd only lose more blood. She ran to the door that was only a hallway away now. She opened the door. Ran out of it and shut it as knives impaled the Mahogany door.
Even then she didn't stop running. She ran and ran and ran until she got to the police station and told them what was going on. They fixed her up using first aid and she left the station. Police cars headed to her house, but she still didn't know whether or not it was safe enough to go back home.
So she just strolled around the streets. Just walking and walking and walking and walking, with absolutely no idea where she intended to go. Until she found herself at the doorstep of the public church. She had this longing to go in, and when she did, she collapsed immediately.
