CHAPTER ONE

VON’S POV

May 10, rainy

It’s a gloomy summer day. I watched boringly as the rain pour down on my windowpane. I crossed my legs and placed my hand under my chin which is a sign that I’m going to die out of boredom.

Minutes later, I heard someone knocked on my door. “Come in.” I said while not averting my eyes from the window.

“Sir, I brought some coffee to warm you up.” My heart pounded when I heard her voice. I immediately looked at her direction. There she stands with a tray on her hands. My first—and hope to be last love.

“Put it over here.” I commanded her. She started to walk towards me. Her flawless walking makes my heart want to jump out of my chest.

I looked at her angelic face—No scratch that, I stared at her God-given face. I observed every part of it, even the tiniest details.

“Sir, are you okay?” I was brought back to my senses after she spoke. I shook my head. “What was that again?” I asked.

She rolled her eyes. Even with that gesture, she made e fall for her even more. “I said your mother wants to see you. She wants to discuss something important with you in private.” For sure she’s gonna order me to work in her company. Seesh. Why wouldn’t she give me a break?! It’s still summer! I can do whatever I want!

“Tell her I don’t want to see her.” After I said that, a tray landed on my head. I held the part where it hurts. “Owwie.” I said.

“She’s your mother for Pete’s sake!” She said while crossing her arm over her chest. “Whether you like it or not, YOU, mister are going to see her. Or else. . .” The she raised the tray as a sign the if I refused seeing my mother again, she’ll beat the crap out of me using the damn innocent tray.

I laughed lightly. “Alright alright! You’re abusing the fact that I like you.” I smirked as her cheeks starts to blush.

“H—hahaha! Oh come on! Cut the crap out. I know you’re bluffing.” She said head high.

My mood suddenly changed because she mistook my confession for her as a joke, AGAIN!

“Tsaka paano ka naman magkaka-gusto s’akin eh isang hamak na muchacha mo lang ako. Mga bagay sa’yo ay ‘yong mga katulad mo rin na sophisticated!” Here we go again with her self-pitying words. I hate it.

“Now if you’ll excuse me Sir, I have more works to do. Call me when you need something.” I nodded as a response. I’m not in the mood of talking. I’m really pissed off right at this moment. I focused on the coffee she served right in front of me.

I took a sip. I smiled at the fact that she creates wonderful cup of coffees for me every single day. Oh by the way, I forgot to introduce myself. Sorry.
