You and Rui were living together on mount natagumo, a mountain with no more population than a small village. You had found him almost killed by a few demon slayers two years ago, and since then you had been taking care of eachother.
It was winter and the weather on the mountain couldn't be worse for stray demons like you. You sat in the small cabin hugging your legs and looked up to your right out of the broken window with a small cobweb in the corner. Where is he you sighed, he was just hunting humans... You thought to yourself and shivered. First five minutes later Rui came back, "What took you so long~?", you said with a slightly irritated tone. "I just encountered a weaker demon don't worry about it", he said and hugged his arms before straddling down on your inviting lap. You hugged him thightly and laid your head on his, he was shivering and gripping the sides of your black yukata. It had silver coloured linings and it was stained in blood, you'd had it for as long as you could remember and it was both torn and stained from past battles. The small silver water lillies shun in the moonlight from the window and the bloody edges looked deep red and omniously frozen.
You ran your fingers through your hair and burried your head in the crook of Rui's neck. "Y/n-san c-can i get under your yukata~?", he asked while shivering and cuddling you thightly; "A-ah of course", you said and quickly untied the obi around your waist, you laid it beside you and took rui into your embrace. "Thank you...", he murmured something incohearent and leaned into your touch, you laid your head ontop of his and closed your eyes.
The next day you would find to snow covered demons with a deep need for help in the shack, Rui's sharp fingertips were gripping onto your sides and his head was dug into the crook of your neck. The two of you sat there, seemingly lifeless and frozen in the cold.
