A Little Miracle
__________Life is some weird phenomena, just when you think you have figured it out completely, it throws you off balance. Just when you think it is all over, it makes you face new challenges. Life shatters you, breaks you, makes you dread the worst. But at the same time, it gives you dreams, love, and a ray of hope to hang on to in the worst times. Life present you miracles when you least expect them but truly need the most.
This is what Farah learnt again today when she found a new hope to hang on to, to hold on to, to make sure nothing defeats her.
She took a deep breath and looked at the wall clock. It was 4pm. It was time to leave. She hastily started dumping her belongings in her bag, ready to escape this damn claustrophobic clinic as soon as possible. She needed to be home. Around her family, her child, her mother, her Tahir…
Tahir.
His thought instantly filled her heart with contentment, and brought up a tender smile on her face. He was her peace; he was just as pure as his name was. Tahir was written in her fate, he was her everything. This is exactly why she hated, absolutely hated, what she was forced to do these days. She hated hiding even the tiniest thing from him, she despised the hide-and-seek game, which she knew had no winner to be declared.
Farah was in a mess, deep terrible mess, and she knew Tahir knowing about it would not end it well. not that it was ending well, anyway… but now, she had to end it. She had to get rid of this dirty work. To damn with Orhan’s threats and filthy tactics. She needed to get out of it because she could not risk herself anymore.
Just when she was about to get up, someone barged in the room, startling her all of a sudden. Of course, it was that cursed doctor.
She loathed him, loathed the day she started working with him, or better say was forced to started working with him. Forced to become a fucking mafia doctor, “What are you doing here?” her voice was laced with disgust.
“I would be offended over your lack of politeness, doktor hanım. But right now we have more important work to do,” the man said, nonchalantly.
“Bitti bu iş. I am not working with you or your boss anymore.” This was not happening, not anymore.
“Do we leave you a choice? Come with me to the first floor. We have an urgent treatment to do.” he came closer to her desk, almost grabbing her hand to drag her along.
She instantly moved back, holding her bag close to her body as her protective instincts kicked in, “I am not going anywhere with you. Call Orhan and tell him, it is over. Leave me alone!” masking her fear, she answered firmly.
“We do not have time for your nonsense. And trust me, you will regret this moment all your life if you don’t follow me, right NOW.” His tone changed, he was threatening her.
“What do you mean?” Farah’s voice barely came out. Her grip tightened on the bag as she started at him.
“You will see.” Not saying a word further, he turned around to walk out.
Without even realizing, she found herself following him. As if her sixth sense told her not to question anything, anymore. Walking through the lobby she gazed at the people in her way. A young family caught her attention, they were probably waiting for their turn for the doctor’s appointment.
Her eyes watered as she waved at the little child who looked extremely annoyed as her brother tried to cheer her up.
An ordinary life, sıradan hayat... this is the only thing she ever wished for yet she felt losing every chance of being closer to it.
