"My name is Day," he tells me.
"Day..." I whisper. His name is Day, the complete opposite of his brother. But his name doesn't really suit him, he seems a bit too harsh and direct to me and his brother Night, seems rather caring and a bit reserved to me.
"Did you say anything?"
"No, no, I haven't"
"Okay... I will let my brother know that the car is repaired. If there is nothing else to discuss, I would hang up, okay?" He asks me.
As if I'm hypnotized by his voice, I just listen to him talking and in my chest I feel my heart making a small jump. I put my left hand at the level of my heart and feel it beating a little faster than normal.
"Hello?" I hear from my cell phone. His voice is pleasant to hear.
"There is nothing more to discuss, we can hang up," I tell him and hear a beep. Suddenly there is silence, so I look at my display and see that he has hung up.
"His name is Day..." I say quietly to myself and there is a little smile on my face. My heart is still beating a little faster than usually. I've never had anything like that in my life.
Suddenly I decide to put my cell phone in my pocket, take Night's business card on my desk, go downstairs, put on shoes and take my keys. I go outside, sit on my motorcycle, put on my helmet. My cell phone is now in my right hand, the business card in my left.
"Okay, now just enter the address..."
With my mobile phone in the holder, I finally drive off and go to their house, which is surprisingly only 15 minutes away from me.
I have finally arrived, turn off my motorcycle and take off my helmet, but still sit on my motorcycle. I marvel at the large and modern house, which is fenced by a fence about 2 meters high, with a few walls. It's already late, but I can see that there are still lights on in the house. So they still seem to be awake.
"Should I really ring the bell? It's really late and just because the light is on doesn't mean that they would also open the door or want to talk..." I say to myself and try to find out why I decided to come here at all or what drove me to do it.
"What the hell, I'll just do it. Either they open the door for me, or they don't."
I lay down my helmet, take my cell phone and keys, and put both in my trouser pockets. A little shy, I go to the door and raise my hand towards the bell until I hear someone calling.
"Day, come back! I didn't mean it that way, stay here! You can't even see where you're going!" That must have been Night, but what happened?
"Leave me alone! Somehow I'm getting away from here and finding my way out of this hell with you!"
What's wrong with the two of them? What happened?
As if rooted, I am now standing in front of the door, because I don't know if I should ring the bell or somehow interfere.
"Day, come on, please. Stand still and come back in..." I hear, followed by steps that come a little in my direction.
"No, leave me alone! I don't want to be near you today, let alone in the same house as you!" Day says to his brother.
"Okay, if that's the case..." replies Night and finally the steps come in my direction, which end right in front of me behind the door. Suddenly the door opens and Night stands in front of me.
"Oh? You are Mhok. What are you doing here at this late time?" He asks me and looks at me in surprise.
"Ehm... Yes, exactly. It's me. To be honest..." but I can't get any further with my sentence, because someone suddenly appears next to Night. I look at him and my heart makes a small and unexpected jump as I look into his brown eyes.
"Night, who is that?"
"Day, this is Mhok"
"Mhok?" He asks Night. "The name seems somehow familiar to me"
"Yes, I'm Mhok. We spoke on the phone earlier"
"Ah, that's you. You called about the car. Why are you here?" Day asks me.
"I don't want to disturb for long, but could I possibly come in?"
"It's actually not such a good time right now, you know?"
"Of course you can come in. Just follow us," Night says politely to me and steps aside so that I can go over the doorstep.
"Hey, Night, what's that all about? Why do you let him in? You don't know him and there's no reason why you should let him in, so why are you doing that?"
"Day, let it be good. There is already a reason why he is here. He will explain it to us right away"
"If it's not a good time, I can come back at another day..." I reply to both, as I perceive a tense mood.
"No, you stay here and come in with me. And you, Day, will come too," he says in a certain voice and closes the door. Day gives in with a sigh.
I let the two precede and observe how Day holds on to Night's arm so that he can be given the direction and he has some security. Night directs him back into the house, with me in the attachment. We take off our shoes and now go in the direction of the kitchen. I am very fascinated by this house, as it not only looks very expensive from the outside, but also from the inside. It is very modern and I can't hide my astonishment.
"Wow, your house is really... Large and very modern"
"Yes, that's true. But probably a little too big..." Night says to me with a little laugh afterwards.
We sit down at the dining table in the kitchen. Night moves the chair for his little brother, Day feels at the backrest and edge of the table to assess how he can sit down, which he succeeds after a few seconds. Meanwhile, Night also sits down. He looks at me and says that I should sit down and points his hand at a chair, so I don't hesitate and sit down.
"So, Mhok, why are you here?" He asks me.
"Exactly, why are you here?"
"Day, don't be so snappy towards him," he says strictly to Day, who is now a little annoyed, leaning against the backrest of the chair, with his arms crossed.
I lean forward with my upper body, my arms are on the table and I interlock my hands. Now I get a little nervous, which is actually unusual for me.
"The reason why I'm here..."
