"you are a fucking asshole!"

a sting in his cheeks followed sharply after made his face shift towards the right, as seonghwa harshly exhaled before whipping his head back up again. he could admit that he was in the wrong because he was. dating someone for a few weeks and not being able to engage with them any more than a few kisses which progressed to feeling uncomfortably disgusted with their touches. but he was seventeen with an overblown pride and ego to follow up to.

so he just rolled his eyes and walked out of the room without sparing her a single glance, ignoring her indignant yells behind him. it was not okay of him at all, he should have told her that he was sorry and wished her the best of luck in the future without making it feel like he did not care about her.

it was conflicting because in some way he did care for her. he still did eventhough he slammed the door shut and rubbed his hands to protect him from the cold, but there was something weird when they talked with each other or let their lips interlock in a steamy moment.

he was graduating tomorrow either way. he had nothing left in the town for him to hold onto and he was moving out of his small town right after he got his high school diploma. after his dad had died, his mom unable to deal with the grief had sought after other men and she was somewhere with another boyfriend of hers. it had been a couple of months since seonghwa had talked to her but that was okay by him. he saw his dad's death coming and he saw his mom turning into someone desperate for attention right after.

the next few hours went dizzyingly fast for seonghwa, as he shoved the remainder of his clothes into a large suitcase alongside a few books and zipped it up and packed up his other essentials in his backpack. the dawn came faster than usual and the walk back from school felt faster than the walk to school. leaving a haphazardly written note for his mom, he walked out of his house and rushed towards the nearby train station hoping he wouldn't miss the train. he didn't stop running his thoughts or his legs until he was standing in front of his apartment door with the keys in his hands.

it was then that seonghwa realized that it was all too fast. in a span of twenty four hours he had broken up with his girlfriend, graduated and moved out of his house and all he had on him was his suitcase and backpack which was beginning to weigh heavily down on his shoulders. he had held zero regard for his friends- acquaintances and had just walked out. he had forcibly made himself lose all he had within a few hours and reduce itself to a trifling amount of materialistic items.

"hello."

"hi." seonghwa mumbled on instinct before he turned around to see who it was. there was a mention that he would be sharing the floor with three more people but they hadn't visited their apartments in a while so he wouldn't have to worry.

"you are moving in new?" a head peeked out of the door a few feet away from his own one and he nodded, jingling the keys he had in his hand so that the person can see it.

"i guess we are neighbours then. i am hongjoong and i would step out but i don't think that would be an appropriate introduction." hongjoong chuckled, and that was when seonghwa realized he could see hongjoong's bare shoulders and he doesn't think he has anything on under him at the moment.

"oh- uh. nice to meet you. i am- uh seonghwa!" he wished he could facepalm with the way he had stumbled over his words, clearly flustered by how hongjoong just smiled at him before wishing him with a wave of goodbye and locking his door. seonghwa unlocked his own door and rushed in before slamming it shut.

a minute was all seonghwa's mind needed before it screamed at him how he needed to bite down at the silky smooth skin and run his fingers down his luscious hair.
