Secrets

Carters P.O.V
"Tell me" says Kim.
"I don't like anybody Kim. And you should know that. We have been friends for who knows how long!!!" I said.
"True, but it still doesn't explain who it is!!!" She explained.
"Fine! If I tell you who I like, then what do I get in return??" I asked hoping she would tell me her secret.
"If you tell me who you like, then I will tell you who I like." Kim stated.
"What!! Hold up!! You like somebody?!?" How could she not have told me.
"Everybody has secrets Carter. And you should know, you kept from me who you like so I did the same."
"Yea, I guess. Ok, here it goes. I like Austin!!!"
"The Austin in our class??" She asked.
"Yea, Austin Shor. What, did you think I liked the other Austin?!?"
"Austin Clifford, yea I did." How could she have thought I liked Austin Clifford in Grade 8?? No!!! I would only like someone who is in the same grade as me. Grade 7! I mean yea, Austin Clifford is sorta cute. But I could never like him.
"Now since I told you who I like, you have to tell me who you like." I said eager to know who it was.
"Alright, I like Jake Albrecht." She spilled the beans. Like literally spilt the can of beans on the counter. "Oops"
"It's alright. Let's just scrap them off the counter and into the pot." I grabbed 2 spoons. One for me and the other for her. We put the beans into the pot then headed outside.
"Wanna go long boarding??" Kim asked.
"Sure. We should call Bethany, and Alana." I said as I started to call them. Bethany, and Alana were our best friends. The four of us hung out all the time.

We all met up at the school staff parking lot. We long boarded around there for a while. Just chatting and hanging out. An hour later, Bethany and Alana had to go home. Kim and I stayed there after they left. After they left, like two minutes later, Jake, Tyler and Justin came from biking around. I was still long boarding when I saw Kim sit down on her long board and start freaking out. I stopped beside her as the boys pulled up beside us.
"Kim, why did you stop??" I asked getting curious.
"I am not long boarding while their here!!!" She said referring to Jake, Tyler, and Justin. I looked up at the guys to see them all have a shocked look on their face. I looked back at Kim and then rolled back on my long board a bit so I was sitting closer to Jake then Tyler and Justin. I don't know why, I just didn't have a good feeling about Kim. I thought she would have been pumped to see her crush not freaking out.
"Kim, come on. Let's go long board before we have to go." I said.
"No!!! I am not long boarding in front of them." She was now furious that they were here.
"Hey Carter and Kim, why aren't you guys long boarding??" Jake asked us. I looked at Kim once again and then came up with a response for both of us.
"Kim doesn't want to be long boarding in front of you guys incase she falls and makes a fool of her self." I explained. "No offence."
"It's cool." Jake said.
"Hey Jake, isn't that your parents waking Mojo??" Justin said looking behind me.
"Yea it is." he replied. The boys left to go talk to Jakes parents on the other side of the parking lot. I turned back to face Kim.
"Come on Kim. You'll be fine. I just started long boarding today and I haven't fallen once." I tried to convince her.
"Yea, but I still don't want to." She replied being stubborn. The boys came back and we sat there hanging out. Well, Kim was still freaking out but the rest of us were chill. Just then, the boys asked us who we liked.
"Uhh Kim, can I talk to you for a second??" I asked. She nodded her head as we sat on our long boards and rolled down a bit farther away from the boys so they couldn't hear us.
"Kim, there's something I need to tell you." I said.
"No telling them who I like." she said in a harsh tone.
"I wasn't going to. What I was going to say is that I like another person too. It's not just Austin, it's Austin and someone else." I said as I started rolling up back to the boys.
"What?!?" Kim screamed. "Who is it?!?" She asked.
"I can't say." I replied simply. "At least not in front of them." I said looking at the boys.

1 hour later, the boys were still trying to guess who we liked. Finally they had to go which left Kim and I alone in the staff parking lot sitting on our long boards.
"We should get going." Kim said looking at her watch.
"Yea." I replied. We got up and brought our long boards to the side walk. We hoped on them and then started to leave from the school.
"I'm so glad they never figured out who we like." Kim sighed in relief.
"Yea. I can't believe they wanted to know who Jenn likes."
"I know right." she said as we crossed the road.
"So who does Jenn like again??" I asked.
"Jenn likes Jake and same with Lela. Lela also likes Tyler and Kiana likes Jake Short." she explained as we pulled up to a four way stop.
"Oh." I said as I turned around and nearly jumped when I found the boys following us.
"You guys never heard anything we said. Right?!?" I asked a little worried.
"No. We didn't hear a thing." Tyler and Jake said in unison. Kim and I both sighed in relief.
"So who do you guys like??" Jake asked us.
"We are not saying." I responded. We were getting close to Jakes house.
"Fine, if you don't tell us now, then we will trap you at my house." Jake said.
"We're still not telling you guys anything." Kim said. Just then, they blocked their bikes on the sides and in front of us so there was no possible way of us escaping. It started to lightly rain a bit.

30 minutes later Jakes parents, once again, started walking towards us and to his house. As they got closer and closer by the second, the boys became more eager to find out. Before his parents were one house away, Kim and I bolted for her house before Mr. and Mrs. Albrecht asked us questions.
