Chapter 3: Next 11 Months

Third Pov:

It has been eleven months now since Harry got his last beating down in the red room and had obtained the letter from his late parents. For the last 11 months, Harry has been quite busy. The night after Harry obtains the letter he decides to go through the trunk seeing all that is inside. Inside like his parents said it had his mother's diary, his dad's old journals of pranking spells/ideas, his dad's prank journal lodger (A/N: It basically gives details of what pranks he did), a photo album filled with magical photos, envelope filled with muggle photos, and a beautiful locket that had a beautiful design on the front and carved on the back were the letters  L, J, and H which were all intertwine Harry open the locket and sees a photo inside it was of him being held in between his parents as they were all smiling happily. (A/N: see picture of the locket at the top of the page) Harry had stared at the photo for a good three minutes before he closed the locket putting it around his neck and tucked it under his shirt for safekeeping and to keep it close before he went back to digging through the trunk. The next thing Harry found that he confirmed was three journals written by his mother that were on her favorite subjects. Those subjects were Ancient Runes, Charms, and Potions. Harry set those things off to the side content with reading them and the other things his parents had written later as he wanted to see what else was in the trunk that his parents said was important for him to study. 

Harry went through the trunk there were books on magic, wizarding traditions & culture, politics, history, house elves, wizarding families and sigils, and a few other books in the trunk. It had taken three months to get through all the books in the trunk besides his parent's journals. During those three months, Harry did more than study he also practiced his Occlumency training and in his magic. For the last 11 months, he noticed that he has a good grasp of on his magic though he does feel very drained after the first few times but as time goes on when he repeatedly casts the spell it is less draining. Thanks to his parents leaving him so many books he found out that a lot of the knowledge the dark lord held was a bit outdated. However, Harry would not be surprised if the laws have changed in the last 9 years he has been in the muggle world so he will have to look into that. Another thing Harry did within the last 6 months was contact the Potter family house elves and rebond with them since they were surviving off the magic of the Potter land which was slowly killing them. Another thing was he had the house elves go to all the family properties and fix them up he also had them find house elves who were looking for work for whatever reason. Another thing he did was change his life at the Dursleys home thanks to the house elves. Since house elf magic can't be detected Harry had Tara use her magic to enlarge his cupboard on the inside and conjure an actual bed for him to sleep in. Another thing Harry did over the last 6 months was practiced his control over legilimency.  The Dursleys had been his test dummies for it. Another thing he had done was have his house elves fetch one of the Horcrux Voldemort had made which was the  Gaunt ring he transferred the Horcrux over to an old blood-covered shirt he couldn't wear anymore and had it stored in the family vault at the manor to be taken care of later. After removing the Horcrux from the ring he had set it inside the trunk to leave there since he was positive he was no heir or lord to the Gaunts or the Peverell family whose sigil was on the ring so he didn't want to put the ring on and then had to cut off his finger.

Today is Dudley's birthday today and the Dursleys had went to the zoo. Harry would have gone with them but he but he had used a compulsion charm to not go as he wanted to go to Gringotts today and do a bit of light shopping for things he wanted to get before his Hogwarts letter came in. This past 11 months had been a lot better for Harry as he made it so the Dursleys no longer physically abused him he was not worried about the mental abuse but the physical one that he still to this day has nightmares about. Harry has gotten slightly a bit fitter actually as he is no longer being starved but he still does not eat much as he is so used to it after years of suffering years of being staved. Harry plans to fix that by getting a full medical checkup up then hopefully getting the needed potions to help fix with his short height and his malnourishment.  Harry wandlessly casts a glamor charm to decide himself before he calls for Tara who takes him to Gringotts back making sure it is in an empty alley nearby to not get noticed. Harry had been aparated with Tara to Diagon Alley which was busy with many who were partaking in early school shopping. After Harry said bye to Tara he walked out of the empty alley and made his way to Gringotts bank.  As he walked he bowed to the guards in respect before going in leaving behind two shocked goblin guards. Harry walks on through the next set of doors into the bank which was filled with many wizards and goblins walking about. As Harry walks about he sees one of the dark lord's most loyal lap dogs Lucius Malfoy who with his wife Narcissa Malfoy 'nee' Black who is not happy in her marriage. With them was a boy who was clearly their son. Harry walks past them and goes to the first not busy-looking teller that doesn't have many wizards around.

Harry-*whispers*"Excuse me, sir, I would like to meet with my account manager if that is possible please."

goblin-"Your name please?"

Harry-*looks around making sure no one hears turns back to the goblin and whispers*" Harry Potter sir I completely understand that I don't look like him I am under a glamour charm I will be willing to prove my identity."

goblin-*pulls out a parchment and dagger*"We will need to check your identity, drop three drops of blood on the parchment.  I am glad you are willing to do so since several have attempted many times to enter your family vaults."

Harry pricked his figure dropping three drops of blood on the parchment proving that he was indeed himself. So with that, he was led through the corridors. After a while, the teller stopped outside the door and he knocked on the door. Harry heard someone say enter. Harry entered and his account manager  Ironriver had informed him that he had been expecting him and asked him to have a seat as they had much to discuss.
