IN WHICH tintin, ever the brave, selfless reporter, is captured by sakharine, falls into the clutches of sakharine's trap, trapped and alone in a cold, dark, empty room. in spite of his defiance, the man dressed in red manages to break his spirit, splinter it into pieces.
he beats and tortures him to near death in one last attempt to ensure he's never bothered again by the reporter interrupting his plans, and upon leaving him for dead is caught and dragged back to prison.
the aftermath results in a long, perilous journey of healing for tintin and haddock both, and they learn to embrace their developing relationship and what it might mean.
haddock learns to grow into the role of a father tintin needs, and tintin learns that he's not alone, not without family.
