"Okay. Let me know if I'm misreading things, but it seems like you've got feelings for me and I've definitely got feelings for you, and I've been trying to work up the nerve to ask you for weeks, and I've finally got it. So....." He stalled
"So... what?"

"Would you be my girlfriend Bimbo?" He asked and the  uninvited butterflies in my stomach began to dance and sing.
'What's wrong with me? Why am I smiling like a roasted goat?' I asked myself within.

"Ummm what if I say no?" I asked and he face immediately held of a sad  expression. "Ewoo! Relax I'm just joking, you know I'm not serious na" I replied holding his shoulders and he smirked.
"So is that a yes?" He asked
"Yes, let's just see how this goes" I replied remembering when I said I was falling for him: I had now fallen for him officially.

"Thanks for saying yes. So now what do I call you?" He asked.
"Collins is this your first relationship?"
"Kinda. The last girl I liked was in highschool and she didn't exactly like me back" he replied and I laughed.

"She must have been blind or maybe you hadn't reached puberty then" I said and he laughed out loud.

"Wow. So I'm officially someone's bae! Onyinye would be so proud. Let's take some pictures" I said and he pulled out his phone.
We took several selfies but my favourite was the one he unexpectedly pecked my cheek. "Send them all to me. Onynyinye must see this" I said and he held my hand as we walked back to our umbrella and laid in the chair, eating strawberry flavoured yoghurts.

"You're so beautiful" He said staring at me. I gave a shy smile in response yet I stared back dauntlessly. "Welp! I think it's time to home" He said getting up and I did the same. We packed our things and back walked to the car.
"Life is funny." I said and chuckled.
"How?"
"I walked in here single and I'm coming out as somebody's girlfriend"
"Haha!" He laughed.
He drove me back home and promised to call me that night. "Bye babe" I forced out the word "babe". It was still very new and weird to my tongue.
"Bye princess" He said giving me a side hug.   Onyinye was already watching us as she stood at  the gate. "Give this to Onyinye" he said handing me a bag full of food snacks.
"Ghen ghen! Onyinye will praise you today. Thank you" I said and alighted his car.

"In-law! in-law!" Onyinye yelled waving like a mad woman as Collims' car gradually disappeared.

"Wetin dey happen for that car?" Onyinye said and dragged her into the house with me.
"He asked me the question!" I announced dropping the bag on the table and Onyinye screamed.
"Ahhhhhhhhhh!"

"Calm down na" I hushed her.

"Calm down gini? (calm down what?) If somebody ever told me that you'll get into a relationship this year I would have laughed at the person" she said
"I hope you said yes" she and I smiled nodding.
We held ourselves and jumped around screaming. "Omo! Me sef I con dey blush anyhow" I said.

"He got you something sef. Here it is" I told her showing her the bag of snacks  Collins got for her. "Hehe! Better in law. Let him continue like this o and he'll definitely marry you" she said.
"Werey ni(mad girl)"

4 months later......

I was seated in the office right before the entrance when a middle aged woman walked in.
"Good afternoon Ma" I greeted the woman who walked in dressed in a blue suit with sunglasses on.
"Good afternoon" she said professionally.
"How may we help you?" I asked
