He was disgusted with himself. He was disgusted by her boss. He was angry. He was furious. He was a ball of pure rage that could not be contained.

"Rose I'm so sorry." I whispered, turning back to her.

"Liam it's fine it's.." She stopped. Her beautiful eyes were filling with tears. "I think we should go. Can we go?" She asked.

"Of course, yes. Come on." I took her hand and we began walking out of the room. Her breathing was shallow but picked up as soon as we stepped into the cold night air. I only paused to take off my jacket and drape it over her shoulders before heading to the car. She didn't protest. She didn't even look up at me. I rubbed her shoulder before placing my hand on her back and leading her towards my car.

When I opened the passenger door, that's when she started crying, bringing her hands to her face, probably so I couldn't see the look on her face. I closed the door and instead wrapped my arms around her, she threw her arms around my neck and cried into my chest. I hugged her tightly while she cried, kissing her forehead and rubbing her back.

"It's okay Rose. It's okay." I murmured.

"N-no it's not!" She cried out in a shaky voice. "I've just lost a job! I have to look for another one!" She exclaimed finally looking back up at me. Her makeup must have been water proof because it wasn't running. She still looked beautiful with tears streaming down her cheeks. "And I loved that job. I didn't care that I was a pencil pusher, file girl. I.. I wanted to.." She continued frantically before bursting into a fresh wave of tears.

"I know." I said quietly. Her dream job was to be a publisher and her relationship with me had cost her that. No. Not me, Max caused this. I scowled. Why was I blaming myself when I could blame that bastard?

Not only had he called Rose a bitch but he had called her a whore as well. I should have punched him the moment he called her a bitch but I had been trying to keep my anger down. I was trying to be a level headed adult but he was being a complete asshole and I couldn't help it. I had to punch him.

"There's other companies Rose. You don't have to work for him." I reminded her.

"But George publishing is part of the big leagues." Rose said quietly as she slowly stopped crying. I stepped back a bit and tilted her chin up so she could look at me.

"So are many other publishing companies." She pursed her lips. "I know you loved your job but someone else will hire you. Hopefully you'll have a more respectful boss there though." She smiled weakly.

"Can you take me home please." She whispered. I nodded and kissed her forehead before opening the door for her again. Rose pulled her dress up and slid into the car. I closed the door behind her before getting in on the drivers side.

The ride back to her parents house was a silent affair. I could tell she didn't want to talk so I didn't say anything. I just rolled down the windows and let her stare out the window, the radio playing softly in the background.

While she was relaxed, I on the other hand was grinding my teeth and gripping the wheel a bit too tightly. I kept thinking about how Max didn't apologize and how I let him walk away even after he called my girlfriend a bitch and a whore. What kind of man was I? How could I just let him walk away?

We pulled into her parents driveway and she softly said not to bother about getting out, we wouldn't be here long. She just wanted to get Abby so they could go back to their apartment. "You don't want to stay here?" I asked quietly. She shook her head.

"I'd rather go back to my place, if you don't mind."

"Of course not but I am getting out." I said, turning off the engine and opening my door. She opened hers before I coudk get to it. Pulling her keys from her purse, she unlocked her parents house. As we stepped into the living room we were able to see three figures on the couch, her parents with Abby between them.
