Today is the day I'm getting admitted to the hospital. My dad flew out and he'll be here for the next 4 days before he has to go back home.
"Skye, you need to finish up. We gotta go!" Austin yelled from downstairs.
"I'll be there in just a minute, could you help me grab my bags?" I asked, zipping the last suitcase. I heard heavy footsteps coming up the stairs. My door opened to reveal Austin.
"Take these two please and I'll grab the rest." I said, pointing to two of my bags. I have a long, boring hospital stay, I'm going to need entertainment. Austin grabbed the bags and I grabbed my pillows and blankets, as well as my last bag. If you didn't know, hospital beds aren't comfortable in the slightest. My surgery is tomorrow, but they wanted me to get settled into my home for the next two weeks. I walked downstairs as quickly as I could without overexerting myself. I brought my stuff out to the car and got in. I pulled out my phone and checked the time. 10:00am. Way too early for being awake. I plugged my headphones in and started playing "Open Letter" by The Amity Affliction. Austin pulled out of the driveway and started driving off. I laid back into Jakoby's arms and handed him one of my headphones.
"I love you, baby girl." Jakoby said, kissing my hair.
"I love you too, darling." I said, smiling. He wrapped his arms around me as I laid my head on his chest. He leaned down and softly embraced my lips with his, causing me to smile and kiss him back. He pulled away slowly with the most adorable smile on his face. I closed my eyes and listened to his heartbeat, as I slowly fell asleep.
=Jakoby's POV= I could tell that fell asleep, as her breathing evened out. I smiled softly as I watched her, she's so beautiful even when she's just awoken after a long night, with her eyeliner all around her eyes and that adorable tired expression on her face. I pulled her closer, admiring all of her features.
"So Jakoby, how have you been?" Mr. Carlile asked, smiling.
"I've been well, how about you?" I said, returning the smile.
"I've been well, thanks for asking." He replied.
"That's good to hear." I said, looking down at the beautiful girl in my arms.
=Skylar's POV= I woke up in the familiar tattooed arms of my love. I looked up to see he was asleep, causing me to smile. I carefully grabbed a blanket and laid it over us, wrapping my long arms around him. I rested my head on his shoulder and inhaled his familiar scent of cigarettes, axe and coffee. I smiled.
"Hey Aus, are we about there?" I whispered, being careful not to wake Jakoby up.
"We're about a mile away, we'll be there in a couple minutes." Austin said, making sure to be quiet.
"Alright, thanks." I whispered, picking up my phone. I changed the song to "Little Motel" by Modest Mouse. I quietly swore as we hit a large pothole. With that, Jakoby opened his eyes.
"Did we just run over someone?" He asked, causing everyone to burst into laughter.
"No, love, it was just a pothole." I said, laughing.
"Ah, okay. Are we almost there?" Jakoby asked, burying his face into my hair.
"We're about to arrive, babe." I said, smiling. I looked out the window to see we were turning in to the hospital parking lot. I grabbed a bag and my bedding and unbuckled my seatbelt as we parked. I climbed out of the van, Jakoby following with the rest of my bags. I reached over and intertwined my fingers with his.
"I love you." I said as we walked inside.
"I love you too." Jakoby said, smiling.
"I'm not scared when you're by my side." I said, kissing his cheek. Dad and Austin took the bags from us as we all piled into the lift. Jakoby pulled me close, knowing that I have a fear of elevators.
"I know you're afraid love, but the doctors don't want you to overexert yourself." He said, kissing my forehead. We arrived on the third floor. We got signed in and got a room immediately, which was wonderful as usually there's a wait. I walked into the room and immediately started unpacking some of my bags and making my bed. After I was done, I sat down in it and waited for the nurse to come in and get me all hooked up. After a few minutes, the nurse came in and hooked me up to all the machines and an IV. Jakoby got into my bed and wrapped his arms around me as we both laid down. I heard the door open, and I looked over to see Jayde and my best friend Rachel come in the door.
"Hey y'all, I missed you!" I said, holding my arms out for a hug. They both came and hugged me, then went to sit down. We were all having idle conversations (except for Alan and Rachel, who were currently making out in the back of the room) when I felt my eyelids getting heavier.
"I'm gonna go to sleep for a lil while, I love y'all." I said, falling asleep almost immediately after.
