The lawsuit

Chapter 2

2 days later, Sunday

I am sitting at my bed with my laptop on my legs, planning some lawsuits while Scott is peacefully sleeping next to me. Right now I am working on Duncan's case. It won't be difficult to set him free, the only thing I have to do is to persuade the judge that it was an accident. "He didn't know he wasn't supposed to put a toaster in a microwave". That's his excuse. I'm so going to win this lawsuit!

"Courtney? What time is it?"

Scott yawns

"8:30, it's early go back to sleep"

Instead of going back to sleep he sits in the same way as I do

"What time did you wake up?"

He asks me

"Around seven"

He kisses my cheek and gets off the bed as I hear his slippers heading to the kitchen. Some time later I hear him yelling

"COURTNEY COME TO THE KITCHEN HELP"

i get off my bed and runs towards the room Scott is in. As soon as I go into the kitchen I see the oven on fire

"SCOTT WHAT DID YOU DO"

I scream while grabbing the fire extinguisher

"I was trying to make breakfast"

"GREAT JOB, COME LATER TO GRAB YOUR AWARD"

I say right after I put out the fire

"I'm sorry Court"

I walk towards him and hug him as he hugs me back

"It's okay,you didn't know..."

I wake up to a ringing noise and as I'm ready to press the red button on my phone to set off the alarm I realise I hadn't set one and someone's calling me.

"Hello?"

I say as I don't know who is on the other line of the phone

"Hey Al, it's Heather"

She and José are the only humans in the earth that call me "Al" just to annoy me.

"I should've guessed..."

"What was that?"

"Nothing, nothing... How are you?"

"I'm fine. Anyways you told me to call you so we can hang out. Are you free?"

I'm not but what I was going to do can wait

"Yes I am. Wanna go to the bowling?"

"Sure but don't cry when I'll beat you"

"You're funny. Anyways where do you live?"

"At the motel in the ********* street"

"I'll pick you up in an hour. Bye hermosa"

"Bye"

I am sitting at my room's couch waiting for Alejandro to come. I really have to start searching for an apartment soon because this motel is so gross. Like,who even decorated it?
