The lawsuit

Chapter 3

I walk into my office to find Monica, my secretary at her desk which is on the other side of the room, facing mine. She was printing some papers when I walked in

"Hi Courtney! I am printing the papers for Mr.Nelson's lawsuit. His mother called earlier this morning-"

Monica is really helpful but she's also a chatterbox

"Hey Monica! I'm going to take care of it. Can you order my usual coffee?"

"Of course!"

She grabs her phone to order as I sit on my office chair and open my computer to start working.

In the next 30 minutes the coffee had arrived and I was almost done with the neanderthal's case while Monica was organising my appointments.

"Courtney,as I was saying earlier, Mr. Nelson's mother called and she wanted to ask about when her son's case will close "

I thought about it and replied

"Call jer back and tell her that I'll have this conversation with her son... today"

"Okay!"

Courtney what are you doing? You hate him! He cheated on you,left you heartbroken and didn't even apologize for it! He deserves to suffer in jail

Courtney who are you trying to fool?

Ugh I still have feelings for... For... For that!

"Nelson, the lawyer is here to discuss your case"

Courtney decided to pay a visit? Woww, I didn't expect that! Even she came, everyone but Alejandro! The one time I need a dude to talk to and he's not there!

Same thing again, the officer walks me to the same room I met her the last time,un-handcuffs me and sits me at the chair which is opposite of Courtney.

"Hey princess"

"I don't know if your problem is because of your ears or brain but stop calling me that!"

"Anyways what do you want?"

"Last time I checked I was your lawyer! Here's the plan."

She said and handed me three A4 papers with printed writing on them

After some time I'm done with reading and I look back at her, then, she starts talking

"Is this okay with you? I mean do you understand?"

"That's perfect! I'll be outa here in no time! I'm going to be free again!"

"About that..."

Courtney said and I looked at her with a look full of confusion. I hate sentences like these...

"If you get caught with an item that could cause any type of damage, either human or building they're probably sending you back in"

"Mind speaking in simple English?"

"If you have with you eg a lighter or a pocket knife and you get caught you'll be back there. Understood?"

"Yes"

"And I wanted to uhm.. ask you something "

"Go on"

"Are you and Gwen yk... A thing?"

She looked super uncomfortable asking that

"Why do you need to know? Admit it you still love me princess!"

"No!!!  It's just that..."

"See? You don't have an excuse "

"If you'd let me talk it would be nice yk"
