┌─────────────────┐ -ˋˏ the story begins : Cataluña Del Mar had always been told, since she was young and still hopeful, to be soft. So she did just that. Cataluña had become the gentle, timid waves crashing against stony beaches, and silver moonlight poring through windows in the early hours of nyx. And she was okay with this side of herself. People relied on her, trusted her, treated her like a temple of comfort and reliability. She didn't like to hurt others, or gloat in glory like the Roman's had taught her. She had nothing to prove to anyone, as long as she knew her worth—at least, that's what she told herself.
Cataluña Del Mar was a fighter. She couldn't ignore her powers or her dreams any longer, and she definitely couldn't ignore the prophecy hanging over her head like an ancient curse she wasn't brave enough to face. She had been running from fate her whole life, and thought she finally was safe at her new school in New York, far away from her gentle and timid life in California, and far from the golden haired Roman boy she had found temporary solace in. But when she meets a raven haired, green eyed boy who smells of sea and stars and warm august nights, who promises forbidden glances, warmth of palm against palm, and to be seen like moonlight hitting water, Cataluña doesn't know if she is strong enough to run this time.
