Mike's diary -( I recently moved to this new town in Indiana named hawks , and I already hate it here , but I'm still unpacking but to be honest I wish my mom and dad would just pack everything back up and leave like the old place we left because it was infested with rodents unlike this one which was perfectly fine which I was It wasn't. The people are nice, well the people that I have met, which are mostly my neighbors and some kids that come around my neighborhood often, I can some of them off the top of my head like this girl named Jane she's cool I guess but not a person I could see my self being close with or anything more than that , oh yeah before I forget to tell you my dad wants me to get a girlfriend since I'm going off to college soon and doesn't want me to be lonely when I'm there , but I'm not very sure about college, I'm not even sure what college I want to go to , I think I may take a gap year so I can actually figure things out . But back to the people I know sort of , so Jane she's nice and everything but we're not close then there's max who is Jane's best friend and to be honest I don't even know how they became friends with each other they literally opposites, but they do say opposites attract which is basically the same for her and her boyfriend Lucas he's nice like Jane and very funny and smart but not as smart as Dustin which to be honest is a total dork . And-) Mike's writing gets cut off by the yelling of his older sister who had already finished college "MIKE HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SCREAM YOUR NAME , DINNER US READY !" she says now standing at the open door way of Mike's room with her hand on her hips and an annoyed glare in her eyes "okay,okay I'm coming also don't come into my room " mike responds with an also annoyed tone almost matching Nancy , she just rounds her eyes and starts to go back down stairs while mike is just starting to take his headphones off of his head.

When Mike gets down stairs after 5 minutes or so of trying to hide his diary but ending up just throwing it on his desk and calling it a day , he walks over to the dinner table where all his family is sitting waiting for him so they could start eating as a family. Mike walks over and sits between Nancy and his father ( Ted) who was sitting at the head of the table much like his mother who was sitting at the other end of the table with holly in the chair next to her impatiently waiting to eat her food despite having a snack before dinner. His mother and father were talking when he came , and his mother stopped mid sentence to greet him as he sat down at where his plate was placed on the table at where normally sits . " So how has everyone's day been" his mother asks in a soft voice " mine was good " Nancy stayed in a happy voice as if she wasn't just screaming at Mike a few minutes ago , mike rolled his eyes and continued to poke at his steak and pick at his broccoli,not in disgust but more in a non- interested way he had nothing against his mother's cooking just was his favorite thing to eat yet he would soon eat every little bit of it just to go back to his room and go to sleep.
