The New Light of Hope Book II: Return to the Forest

Chapter XXX: The Unfortunate Battle and Family Tragedy.

Amethyst:

The battle was then on at that very moment; numerous tintamarres were shared all around during all of it. But I must warn you that it was very unfortunate sadly.

During the battle, I fought along with Lauren by my side to help me out, where I then came across the same clothed figures from before and this time, they were more prepared. Yet, when I met that same clothed wolf -Stroman-, he chose to not fight me just like before. Is this guy soft or something? I asked myself. Just then, another spy attacked me. "Since you don't have the guts to fight this little pest, I'll do it myself! Go see if anyone else need any help!" He boasted, Stroman then left under his command; this spy was a very muscular black-and-brown male wolverine -a hobb- with fiery red eyes and scars all over his body. "You'll be an easy takedown." He muttered to me.

"Not if I have anything to do with it, you son of a bitch!" I retorted, kicking him as hard as I could to get him off of me to free myself from his strong, boney grasp. "Oh, you've done fucked up big time, girly." He said maliciously, lunging at me and scarring the right side of my lip and my chest area. "Now you outta know better than to hit a woman!" I snarled, slapping him and causing his mask to fall off, knocking him down in the process. I ran off quickly to see if someone needed any sort of help.

MoonStone:

Remembering all of his teachings from his apprenticeship and from what he learned, MoonStone fought off every enemy the best that he could. He eventually got help from SilverSun and from Amethyst as well. "You're going to need all of the help you can get." SilverSun told me. "Thanks." He replied back. When MoonStone had fought off another rogue, Amethyst told him: "Go and see if anyone needs any help. They may need it."

MoonStone: "But what about you and SilverSun?"

SilverSun: "We'll be fine, go!"

MoonStone: "All right, but please be careful."

SilverSun: "I will; don't worry about me."

He glanced once at his sister and then said: "Be careful." Before he ran off.

Amethyst:

Just as MoonStone left, the same wolverine attacked by grabbing ahold of my neck and dragged me close to the river. It wasn't until I kicked him in his kneecap that he let me go, but then, he grabbed me by my shirt and dragged me down with him into the river.

I surfaced up quickly and yelled: "Help! Somebody!" Just as I yelled, the same wolverine surfaced up too and using his strong, boney claws, he shoved my entire body underneath the water as we were being swept away quickly on the surface.

Sadie:

"Aurora! Sadie! Bellatrix! Summer! Amanda! Amethyst was dragged into the river and is quickly being swept away by the current! We need to save her now!" Laurel shouted. I fought the enemy quickly and ran to inform Aurora, Bella, Summer, and Amanda about what was going on and we rushed towards the river. "Amethyst!" Summer shouted. "Where are you?"

Amethyst:

I heard the voice of Summer and I looked up to see her, Aurora, Sadie, Bella, Laurel, and Amanda standing where they were. "Over here!" I called back, trying to swim towards them. "Oh, no you don't!" The wolverine bellowed, grabbing me once again and dragging underneath the water. But this, I had had enough! I quickly kicked him again and spun around as fast as I could, and when I was close enough, I raised up my right hand and slashed it across his throat, leaving a very deep cut which caused him to quickly loose a large amount of blood. I killed him, but I then focused on trying to swim back up to the surface, but then I grew unconscious and began to sink to the bottom instead.

Just then, I felt someone grab me and placed me onto the bank with another hand pumping up and down on my chest, causing me to cough up water. I shot back awake and looked around, seeing my friends, Laura, and Amanda. "What happened?" I asked. "Am I dreaming?"

Sadie: "No, Amethyst, this is reality, you're not dreaming at all."

Amethyst: "Then what happened?"

Amanda: "Me and Laura dived into the river to save your life and brought you back up to the surface."

Amethyst: "You two... risked your own lives just to save mine?"

Laurel: "We sure did!"

Amethyst: "Th- Thank you for saving me."

Amanda: "You're welcome, Amethyst."

Summer: "What's wrong?"

Amethyst: "I can't tell you right now, we need to keep fighting, we can't stop now."

Bella helped me get back on my feet and we continued on with the battle.

Summer:

The battle took a lot longer than the last battle, but it was not until later when TIO manifested himself and shouted: "Diablos, withdraw!"

And that, they did so. Then he looked at all of us and said: "We may have been poorly prepared the last time, but this time, we came back stronger and you all were too stupid to even notice it."

Aurora: "Yeah, but we still won the battle!"

Nathaniel: "Ah, but at what cost?"

Jemma: "What do you mean by, 'But at what-"

Jemma stopped and looked at the river. I looked too, though I really shouldn't have; there was a medium amount of blood plaguing the river, turning it as red as blood itself. "What the-"

Nathaniel: "You may have won again, but once you see it yourself, you'll see what I meant."

Maria: "What did you do?!"

Diane: "See it for yourself and then you'll find out. Diablos, let's go!"

Then they left, leaving only TIO behind. "Let this be a reminder to all of you who try to escape from fate." He said. He then disappeared and then went towards the river and saw a horrible, yet gruesome sight; many of the animals who fought alongside all of us were killed in different ways and among them, was SilverSun -MoonStone's sister-, she was beheaded and she had several scars on her body with her blood flowing into the river. "SilverSun, noo!" MoonStone shouted, rushing over to his sister's body and crying.

We were horrified by what we saw and had no words to say about it. And then the animals grabbed the deceased and we all went back to the Northeast, where even more unfortunate events unfolded.

When we came to the Forest Spirits Division, mixed commotion took place when we saw HazelStripe, Doe, and OceanHeart walked towards Chief ArrowHeart and MistFur, HazelStripe and OceanHeart were crying and Doe had a look of guilt and grief on her face. "What's wrong?" Chief ArrowHeart asked them with concern.

"We tried everything we could, but nothing worked." Doe replied. "SilverHeart is gone."

"What?" Chief ArrowHeart and MistFur exclamated. "This has to be a dream, surely it has to."

HazelStripe: "Unfortunately, this isn't a dream, son. This is reality. Y-y-your mother is gone and has gone to join the Sky of Silver Souls."

MistFur: "No!"

I listened to the conversation in shock. I put my hand over my mouth in despair with tears falling from my face as BrokenClaw brought SilverHeart's body out, shocking everyone around us as well. Chief ArrowHeart and MistFur ran over to the body of their mother and began crying and their father and uncle joined them as well. Everyone was in despair too that many of their animals -including their former leader- were gone. Even I was in despair for what happened.

But things like this would only get worse.
