Dear Diary,
Today I was playing video games with Willy and I had never seen her look this happy. She always had this distant sadness hidden in her eyes and this forced smile that never reached her ears. Even on her sixteenth birthday, she was surrounded by adults who never managed to look past her thick makeup that covered her misery like a mask. I was the only one who knew how much she was internally suffering. I don't understand why Reddy would force her to go to these useless pageants that she hated. Was it really fun treating her like a Barbie doll?
No wonder she was happy to stay with me for a few days. I give her everything she could ever ask for. All the forbidden things that her parents never let her have. Junk food, games, and most of all, a person who actually listens. She told me her parents never let her have friends because, to them, friends are a waste of time. How pitiful is that? To never experience a sleepover or to never have to roam the mall with your friends? That is depressing indeed.
Oh well, I will make sure the final days of her life are worthwhile.
She won't live for that long anyway.
Maybe it's time to throw in the big hook.
