* *Lucy, beyond tired, made her way quickly to the Gryffindor common room. She had sat through a few platefuls of dinner, and then watched on awkwardly as the stout woman to be their defense against the dark arts professor, Delores Umbridge, gave a long annoyingly slow speech. Harry, Hermione, and Ron had whispered to each other about her, and from what Lucy picked up she worked for the Ministry of Magic and was not to be excited for.
When Lucy rounded the corner to get to the common room, she sees Harry standing there awkwardly.
"Hiya Harry, didn't get the new password?" Lucy says, smiling at him. Harry smiles and shakes his head. "Was too busy avoiding all of the stares and whispers. Reckon I should have expected it," Harry sighs, rubbing the spot where his scar sat.
Lucy nodded, feeling sad for the young boy. She knew the feeling of complete isolation, though only distantly.
"Mimbulus Mimbletonia," Lucy says to the fat lady, who smiles kindly at her and nods her head as the door to the common room opens for them.
"Thanks for that," Harry says, walking in behind Lucy and making his way to the boys dormitories.
Lucy sighs as she takes in the common room, its warm and inviting atmosphere swarmed her senses. A fire cackles in their large fireplace, the deep red that Lucy loves so much touches every inch of the room in some way. The house elves have seemed to have moved some things around for the students, expanding their seating arrangements and adding new decorations. The smell of cinnamon wafts over the girl, as if someone were baking right there in the room with them.
Fred and George were across the common room, hanging up something on the board. Lucy spots them and walks over, her eyes feeling heavy. "Hello boys, what are you up to now?" Lucy says, looking up at the poster they had pinned.
"Weasley and Weasley products?" Lucy giggles, shaking her head. Fred grins over at her, but scowls playfully. "Well do you have a better name then? Let us hear it!" He says, waiting patiently.
Lucy just shakes her head, smiling. She looks over at the large clock on one of the walls and sighs, seeing its well past nine o'clock, but she wasn't quite ready to turn in yet.
Lucy felt like this was the year to open up, try new things, make new friends. She was starting now, and felt quite confident about it.
She walks over to the nearest couch and plops down, sighing and staring into the fire infront of her. Fred and George eye her, more so Fred, who casually walks over and plops down beside her.
Lucy eyes him, though with less reproach this time. "Are you two trying out for quidditch this year?" She asks quietly, folding her knees up to her chest. She begins to pull her dark curly hair out of the braids she had it in, letting the waves created by the braids fall loosely along her shoulders.
Fred smiles at the girl, nodding his head. "Of course we are! Are you?" He asks, watching Lucy play with her hair.
Fred felt his stomach doing flips sitting here talking to Lucy, really talking to her. Though the Weasley twin joked and teased, Lucy really was the prettiest girl at school to him, though she may never know it.
Lucy smiles at Fred, a real dazzling smile. "I wouldn't miss it for the world. After last year, I'm dying to fly again," she sighs, closing her eyes for a moment to think about it.
