FORKS HIGH SCHOOL– the current bane of Celeste's existence. She sat in the passenger seat of Bella's red pickup truck, her eyebrows pinched together and her mouth was set in a frown. Clearly, the witch was discontent with her current situation. She glanced around the parking lot, half expecting it to be exactly like 10 Things I Hate About You, Clueless, or Mean Girls. But she was quickly met with disappointment at the realization that it was nothing like the movies. It was...normal. No witches floating in the air or flaunting whatever new spell they learned, cliquey werewolves, or vampires zipping around.
Bella glances at Celeste, she gently places a hand on her shoulder. "Are you okay?" She asks.
She slightly jumps and turns to Bella, Celeste smiles and any sign of discontent melts away. "I'm quite alright! It's just odd."
"I can imagine– how weird this all is... " Bella pauses before hesitantly holding onto Celeste's hand, "But I'll be here to help you. We'll do this together."
Warmth flickered in Celeste's chest and she squeezed Bella's hand in response. Bella was quickly becoming the only people in Forks that Celeste found somewhat bearable. Something about the awkward and clumsy normie comforted Celeste. Behind her stammering sentences and long pauses, there was a fire that burned inside Bella. Which showed through her witty and sassy comebacks.
"Swear it?" Celeste asks and Bella reassuringly nods her head, "I swear it."
Celeste felt the gaze of multiple pairs of eyes on her as soon as she stepped out of the truck. She squares her shoulders, not showing any signs of nerves. The witch follows behind Bella who seemed to be keeping her eye out for someone. Bella abruptly stops causing Celeste to ram into her, she lets out a little oomph before following Bella's line of sight. Immediately, she felt the presence of old magical beings. Celeste's eyes narrowed onto the three people that stood next to the silver Volvo. Oddly pale, creepily beautiful, a magnetic pull, and golden eyes. They were definitely the Cullens. She quickly came to the conclusion that the tall brunette was Edward, Bella's boyfriend. The two shared a passionate kiss causing Celeste's nose to scrunch in disgust. She scratches her neck awkwardly before looking away.
Suddenly, a bubbly pixie-haired girl appeared in front of Celeste. Her smile radiated even in the gloomy weather. She claps her hands excitedly, "Celeste! I'm Alice. I've been waiting for your arrival ever since you popped into my head." She greets.
Celeste's eyebrows raise in interest, "Clairvoyancy. That's unique." The witch compliments before her gaze slides over to the dirty blonde male that stood by Alice's side. He seemed to be in a daze, almost as if he was staring through Celeste. His tense shoulders drop and a charming smile replaces his frown, "Jasper Hale. It's nice to meet you, Celeste." Her lips quirk at the sound of his Southern accent.
Bella snuggles into Edward's side, she nudges him softly and nods her head towards Celeste. He clears his throat before politely sending a smile her way, "Celeste, I've heard great things. I'm Edward Cullen." He extends a hand towards her which she stares at for a moment before taking it.
