I woke up feeling less than thrilled about going to school, knowing that Ethan and his gang would be waiting outside to bully me, as they always do. Sometimes, I couldn't help but wonder how certain girls could have such low self respect. Personally, I could never bring myself to sit on a guy's lap, knowing that his hand is in another girl's panties. Nevertheless, I still had to gather the strength to get up and prepare for the day ahead.
As I arrived at the front parking lot of the school, I noticed Ethan and his group waiting for me, just as I expected . They were gathered around his luxurious car. Trying to maintain my composure, I chose to ignore them and avoid making eye contact. As I approached the entrance, I overheard Ethan remarking, "Not the nerdy scary girl again." That's what he's been calling me for the past year. I responded, "Get a life, Ethan." He retorted, "Someone woke up from the wrong side of the bed." I firmly replied, "Why don't you just leave me alone and keep quiet?"Ethan let out a mocking laugh. "Oh, look who's getting all defensive now," he sneered. Scarlet took a deep breath, refusing to let his words get to me. "I'm not being defensive, Ethan. I'm just tired of your constant negativity. Can't we just coexist peacefully?" I replied, my voice firm but calm. Ethan crossed his arms, a defiant look on his face. "Why should I leave you alone? It's fun to see you squirm," he taunted. I shook her my, a hint of disappointment in her eyes. "You know, Ethan, there's more to life than tearing others down. Maybe if you focused on something positive, you'd find some happiness too
With that, I turned and walked away, leaving Ethan and his gang behind. I was so tired of his nonsense. Now, here I am, sitting in class, trying to focus on the lesson. But of course, Ethan just can't resist taking another shot at me.
"Hey, scary did you finish your homework or were you too busy reading about your imaginary friends?" he sneered, his buddies laughing along.
I could feel my blood boiling, but I refused to let him see how much his words affected me. I took a deep breath, trying to channel my inner strength. I turned towards him, my voice steady and laced with a touch of sarcasm. "No, Ethan, I've been too busy actually learning something. Maybe you should give it a try sometime," I shot back.
The classroom fell silent, all eyes on us. Ethan's face turned red with anger, but he couldn't come up with a clever comeback. My response had caught him off guard.
As the teacher began the lesson, I shifted my focus back to my studies. I refused to let Ethan's presence distract me any longer. I have made a promise to my mom and i will not let her down because of some bored pathetic immature boy. I will get into that law school, that's what my mom wanted me to do since i was in her stomach.
As the day went by i tried to avoid Ethan and his friends as much as possible, but it seemed like they were determined to make my life miserable. It's not like i will let some immature boys get to me.
I was having lunch with Lilly, My best friend. We were so different but still ,she was the only one who understood me.
While we were munching on our food, Mr. Anderson, one of our teachers, came up to our table with a big smile on his face. I was curious about what he wanted to tell me.
He started by saying how impressed he was with my grades and how dedicated I am to my studies. I felt a little proud, I won't lie. Then he dropped the bombshell, they wanted to ask me if I could tutor a student who's been struggling in math.
I couldn't believe it! I mean, sure, I love helping others and all, but being asked to tutor someone officially? That was a whole new level of responsibility. But deep down, I knew I was up for the challenge.
Lily nudged me and whispered how awesome I would be as a tutor. Her support gave me a boost of confidence. I turned to Mr. Anderson and told him that I would love to help out.
He explained that the tutoring sessions would be twice a week after school in the library. He assured me that he would provide all the materials and support I needed.
"Girl this is such a good opportunity to finally get you a boyfriend. God i hope its a guy"
Lily said
"Woah woah woah wait what? I thought you were happy for me because of my grades not because you want to get rid of me. This is not okay Lily"
I said with a sarcastic tone
"Soooo boring"
She said yawning
"Whatever"As I finished my lunch, I made my way over to Mr. Anderson's office to meet the student I was gonna tutor. I nervously knocked on the door and stepped inside. And guess what? Sitting right there was Ethan, with his dark, glossy brown hair. I instantly felt a wave of unease wash over me. I couldn't believe I had to tutor him. I mustered up the courage to speak up, "No way, Mr. Anderson! I can't tutor Ethan. And I'm pretty sure he doesn't want me to either." But Mr. Anderson insisted, "Come on, Miss Hazelwood! You're one of the smartest students here. I'm sure Ethan would be lucky to have a beautiful young lady like you as his tutor." The whole situation felt tense, and I couldn't shake off my unease. It was gonna be a challenging task, that's for sure.
I took a deep breath gathered my thoughts before responding to what he just said. Well it was kind of hard to think when Ethan was staring into my soul with his Light green eyes.
"I don't know Mr Anderson we have a complicated history. An-" Ethan interrupted me before i got to finish whatever i was going to say. "of course Mr Anderson. We've only had one little argument back in the days but we are on good terms now" he said with a smirk. I just smiled and nodded. What else could I do? I don't want to risk not getting in law school because of some childish soon-adult guy.
"Well then there's no problem. You can start tutoring this week. On Wednesdays and Fridays. Thanks Miss Hazelwood and Mr Wilson I'll see y'all tomorrow have a good day"
We both said bye and walked out of the office."What the hell was that, Ethan?" I exclaimed, my frustration evident in my voice.
"What the hell was what, angel face?" he retorted, using a new nickname that I didn't appreciate.
"Don't even think about it. I will not tutor you, Ethan!" I declared, determined to stand my ground. As I turned to leave, he grabbed my arm and pulled me closer to him.
"You will come to that damn library every Wednesday and Friday, understood? You don't have a choice," he demanded, his grip tightening.
"No way," I replied defiantly, refusing to let him dictate my actions. Our faces were inches apart, his breath on my skin, and his eyes locked onto mine, causing my heart to race. He still held onto my arm.
"You won't get into your dream law school. I know people who can make it happen with just one call. And I can convince them to change their minds in one second ."
"What?" I gasped, shocked by his confidence.
"You heard me," he said, a smirk playing on his lips.
"I hate you!" I exclaimed, my anger boiling over. I hated that he always seemed to get what he wanted, that he could control me.
He responded, his gaze filled with an unsettling determination, "It appears that our paths align, heading in the same direction."
"Fuck you, Ethan," I spat, pushing him aside and storming out of the hallway, making my way to my locker.
I was furious. How can someone be so full of themselves? His ego is literally making me blind.
As I was lost in my thoughts, out of nowhere, Lily comes charging towards me like a wild woman, all frantic and worked up. She's screaming at the top of her lungs, her voice filled with genuine concern and burning curiosity. "What's going on, Scar? We need to get to my place ASAP! You have to spill all the tea. I heard this crazy rumor about you and Ethan having this epic fight. What's the real deal? Tell me every juicy detail!"
I couldn't believe how fast the news had spread. It was like a wildfire, consuming everything in its path. And to make matters worse, we didn't even have a fight! It's insane how wild and twisted rumors can get.
