"Its more that enough...Appa" Ariah said to her father who kept throwing in cheese crackers into their shopping cart. Her father turned into a shop-a-holic every since the news of Airah's admission into college came out. Last week he bought her a closet full of clothes. The week before it was make up products.

"its never enough if its Cheese CraCkers.... you could lend some to your roommates" said Appa. Airah had given up at this point. She let her father spoil her to his wish.  Either he was excited or he was too worried to sent her daughter away to a far away place.

The next morning Airah was running all over her room packing her bags for the shift to her dorm. Her brother sat in the corner of her bed playing on his tab and asking random questions of curiosity. He was too cute to ignore in the middle of her hurried packing. This year he would be in Grade 2. Airah felt teary with the thought of leaving her brother. She had pampered him too much that it made him into her ardent fan. He would always go behind, following her around. It was like a baby kitten who has lost its mother finding warmth elsewhere. And that something was his own sister. Airah loved her brother more that a mother would love a child, this was how her father always told her.

"nuna.... can iiii comee wit u" asked her brother quietly looking up from his tab.

"Let me ask my teacher Ben" said Airah

"is mikyy goingg nu...nuna"

"mickey....mickey cannot read bubu" said Airah laughing.

By around dinner time Airah had completed packing. Her brother had gone to sleep. Airah was exhausted from all the packing. As she sat done on her bed she saw her reflection on the mirror. Over that last six months Airah had tried to burry her past. Every memory of it was forced shut consciously. One year ago she was forced into stripping. Her body had a price and her time was clocked. She had looked completely different. Her hair was coloured bright red, she wore scanty dresses and heels that gave her legs sore. And the faces of the men she was sold for kept haunting her day and night. These memories would frequent Airah but she fought it back with her iron mind. She was determined to take revenge. She had vowed to shut the bloody company who treated women like confectioneries. She did not know how or when but it was a thought that gave her power and satisfaction.

As she looked at her reflection now she felt composed. She had dyed her hair black and grew it long. Tomorrow would be a great day Airah thought.

"that's all..." said appa as he shut the trunk of his Vokswagen SUV.

Airah gave him a soft smile. This was the moment she was dreading....saying goodbye to Appa and Ben. They were standing outside her university hostel,  Appa was leaning on the car and Ben was playing with his tiny kick-board scooty on the pavement. Other new students and parents were busy on the background with the shifting.

"Appa...I will call you everyday. There is nothing to worry about now"

"If you want to go the park, or shop or anywhere....Call my office for a ride. Never go anywhere walking.....especially alone....at night"

"yesss ppaaa" said Airah. She gave him a kiss on his cheek and hugged him warmly. Ben stopped his playing and tugged Airah's coat. She grabbed him, held him in her arms and kissed him more that she could count.
