Airah stood in front of room 613 and let out a sigh. The cramped space reminded her of the horrors of last year. But this was cute though.

She unpacked her luggage and opened the cardboard boxes filled with her stuff. She chose the bed on the left side of the door. Her roommate would have to take the right. Both the sides looked the same though.

Airah started to stuff her clothes into the drawers under her bed. She had packed the most tomboyish pants and plain graphic  t-shirts with anime references. Her choice of clothes had changed. She had stopped wearing dresses or any type of revealing clothes. It was conscious decision. Dresses and cute tops brought back memories she wanted to forget. She just could not wear one. Anything above her knees made her uncomfortable. She also chose basic muted colours and more of black shades.

Her desk was not to big nor to small.  It had a small desktop with wifi cable. She unpacked her new mac book pro on it. Next to her desk was her closet. It had 5 racks. One rack she filled it with toiletories, another with cheese-crackers, the next rack with headphone, charging cables, adapters, etc... The last two racks she filled with her lingerie and home wear and pjays.

Making her bed was the toughest part. The spread was heavy to lift and tucking the sheets under was difficult. Then after pushing her empty luggage bags in to the spare space next to the door she threw herself on the bed...only to spring up straight because she was sweating from all the arranging and unpacking.

Her hostel had four floors. Every floor had toilets but the bathing area was on the fourth floor.  Airah decided to take a quick  shower and grab something to eat.

She was lying on her bed talking on the phone to Ben.. when she heard a knock on her door.

"Ben.....Nuna will call you in the evening...tell appa okay" said Airah as she cut the call.

"in a minute" shouted Airah to the person at the door as she hurriedly tidies her hair and dress and rushed to open the door.

"HI" said Airah in the most extrovert manner she could muster to the pretty girl standing in front of her. She had lush brown hair. She was wearing  a mini skirt and  a cute top.

"Hey .. you must be Kim Airah. The warden informed me and I am Mikasa Lee" said the girl.  She had a confident voice.

"Hi.." said Airah again. She was not good at talking (if you must note down).

"which course" asked Airah.

"business studies and management" replied Mikasa.

Airah felt strange having this girl in her room. She could sense that Mikasa was a talker. Airah was not. She kept her words to herself. Her traumatic experience had changed her entire personality.

"I would'nt say that this room is small but bit stuffy right. I actually wanted the dorm on the north side of the campus. That is close to the mens' hostel. I could easily go crash at my boyfriends place whenever i wanted....ahhhh. But that would take the love out of it. I think I can do away with that...not a necessity ..."

"mmm yeah" nodded Airah confused to her roommate blurting out to her.

"See classes start on the day after. We have only whole day to look around the campus. Shall we do that tomorrow."

"sounds good" said Airah.

As Airah lay on her bed scrolling through phone, as Mikasa unpacked her things. But she kept on talking all over the place. Within a span of three hours Airah knew all about Mikasa, her family, how she met her boyfriend, her pet cat Taco and her elder brothers. She even showed her pictures. One of her elder brothers from the picture looked too good. Mikasa added that he had a lost list of girlfriends. He was too kindhearted to reject their proposals that he vouched to date every that approached him for a month. It was fun to hear Mikasa talk. She was good at expressing and make the perfect amount of jokes. Airah was happy that she got a talkative roomie. Otherwise she would have stressed herself out if her roommate was quite like her. Airah feared awkward silences.

The next the roommates toured the university together. Mikasa, being her extrovert self brought in girls from the other rooms too.
