~ Damien ~
"Shit...shit...shit!", exclaimed Ryan with clenched fists.
As for me, I still couldn't understand what I had just experienced. I had a LOT of questions about everything I heard during the discussion, especially about the seed; I also couldn't get over the fact that Ryan was a killing machine, judging from how he executed all seven of them in just a few minutes.
An awkward silence existed between the both of us, but not until we arrived at the building's first floor. I couldn't help but notice how everyone's eyes remained fixed upon us while we headed straight for the marble counter.
"Why is everyone staring at us in such weird manner?", I asked Ryan in a whisper.
I watched him swing his gaze from left to right, scanning each of their faces with a very stern look; that was when I grasped that the answer to my dumb question was right in front of my eyes. He was still bathed in the blue liquid, or should I say, the blood of their own kind.
"Ohhh...now I see", I whispered.
My eyes shot wide open in amazement when I realized that he was now weilding two blue light sabers which appeared at the flick of his wrists.
"Can you fight?", he asked.
"What?...I-I can try--", I stuttered.
"Fuck...get behind me"
I instantly obeyed his order, my heart pounding as fear zipped down my spine. Murmurs filled the atmosphere while dozens of the blue people began approaching us at great speeds, weilding the same weapon as him; soon enough, we became trapped in a circle, with no room for escape.
"Get ready to run when I say so", Ryan whispered.
My heart couldn't stop racing and I gulped, watching as he swung his weapon in the air in anticipation for their first attack.
Beads of sweat began pouring down my face and I almost crumpled when their voices spoke in perfect synchronization;"Surrender and we'll make your death painless"
I couldn't help but wonder how Ryan was going to take on all of them at once; sure I considered him to be a killing machine, but we were fucking outnumbered at the moment.
"Fuck you", he spat, causing me to gasp.
I was bathed in the disgusting blue liquid immediately his sabers slashed through four of them at once. Slashing sounds were all I could hear followed by violent splashes of the liquid, making it almost impossible for me to see anything amidst the battle. But like a mice, I managed scurry through any tiny space I could find amongst them, plunging myself over the marble counter when I got close enough to it.
Lifting my head a bit upwards above the counter, I wiped the gooey liquid off my face with my palm, allowing me to see how Ryan's saber ripped through each of the aliens with ease. He didn't seem to care about the fact that he was completely bathed in the blue liquid; instead, his whole body oscillated at great speeds which made it possible for him to dodge and aim lethal attacks at his opponents.
However, the little glimmer of hope in my eyes vanished when both sabers were knocked out of his hand by a lethal attack from one opponent; clanging noises echoed as both sabers touched the ground with their metal hilts.
"Noooo!"I yelled when a triocular opponent plunged her feet into Ryan's chest, a sudden attack which sent him flying backwards until he crashed into a wall. My skin became carpeted with goosebumps when one of them shot a killer gaze at me.
Left with no further options, I sprang up from my peeking position and darted backwards, allowing my gaze to scan for any nearest weapon; but to my greatest disdain, there was none. I gulped, pacing backwards until my back met with the cold glass wall.
As the alien motioned towards me, all that reflected in his bright blue eyes was a painful death for me. My whole body began trembling in great fear when it leapt into the air in a bid to pounce upon me; I shut my eyes and winced, expecting to be impaled by his bright red saber sword anytime soon.
Suddenly, a loud screech which threatened to rip through my eardrums reverberated throughout the whole place. My eyes popped open for me to realize that my opponent was laying upon the counter with a blue dagger sticking through its head, its blood dripping from the counter's edges.
I exhaled, swiftly averting my gaze leftwards to Ryan who was back on his feet. Grabbing the arm of his immediate opponent, he twisted it, shielding himself from an incoming attack; I shuddered upon the arm's amputation and deep within me, I could feel my stomach threatening to explode with a retch because I couldn't stand the horrid sight and stench anymore.
At what seemed like breakneck speed, Ryan picked up the closest saber he could find, slicing through everything that crossed his path until suddenly....
"Get the fuck off me!"
I shrieked when the opponent whose head was impaled by the blue dagger grabbed me. Nothing but fear and regret clouded my mind at the moment; I was so carried away with watching Ryan's sick moves, that I totally forgot my life was in grave danger.
Struggling did me less good because my opponent's grip only got stronger each time I tried to do so. It felt as though my bones were getting crumpled by the excess pressure, but all I could do was try to gasp for air. My heart raced faster than ever when the slime covered dagger was brought closer to my neck; I was almost starting to melt from the intense heat I felt each time it got closer and closer.
"Drop your weapon or the heir dies!", my opponent commanded.
Ryan's gaze became locked upon me and I could see his hands trembling as he let go of the saber. He groaned as two opponents seized his arms from behind, plunging him to the ground with sheer force.
I was yanked by my right arm and flung beside Ryan, causing me to shriek because I felt my shoulder pop out of place. I grimaced, observing as the opponents began murmuring inaudible words to themselves, with their weapons geared at us.
Submerged in the severity of my pain, I was unable to move and beads of sweat poured down my face. My weary gaze met with Ryan and all that reflected in his eyes was extreme pity for me.
I winced and yelled when another opponent who looked very much human grabbed my dislocated shoulder, yanking me upwards.
"STOP! Please...", I cried.
"Let go of him and take me instead", Ryan blurted.
Everyone's attention abruptly became drawn to the portal which appeared in front of me. My eyes were almost blinded by the gleaming purple light which emanated from it as someone stepped through it.
In less than a minute, the atmosphere became saturated with screeching noises while our opponents were lunged backwards by an unseen force.
Ryan's gaze gravitated upwards until it became locked upon the figure who stood in front of us. A few seconds later, he was finally able to utter a single word;
"Ayla?"
