In a time long before demons plagued the land, Mika’s world was a harmonious blend of technological marvels and thriving nature. Skyscrapers towered alongside ancient trees, creating a surreal landscape where mankind’s creations intertwined seamlessly with the natural world. This realm enjoyed a delicate equilibrium between technology and nature, a balance shattered by the sudden emergence of demonic forces.
Without warning, demons manifested, wreaking havoc on the once-idyllic world. Skyscrapers crumbled, landscapes were destroyed, and the once-thriving society plunged into chaos. The demons, fueled by malevolence, committed unspeakable atrocities, leaving devastation in their wake. Humanity struggled against this nightmarish onslaught, and as despair gripped the world, a glimmer of hope emerged.
A supernatural phenomenon unfolded, granting powers to 90% of humanity—abilities that varied from summoning weapons to healing. These individuals, known as the “gifted ones,” became humanity’s last line of defense against the demonic forces.
Yet, Mika found herself among the unfortunate 10% who remained powerless. Undeterred, she devoted herself to aiding the gifted in their battle against the demons, scavenging resources from fallen foes.
One day, Mika joined a group whose camaraderie offered solace in the midst of tragedy. The members of her newfound party:
1. Yuu: The Self-Sacrificing Idiot
Yuu’s ability allowed him to revive himself a couple of times a day, but this gift came at a cost—if he died more than the given daily limit, he would die permanently.
2. Riko: The Swordswoman
Riko drew strength from her desire to protect her friends. Her ability amplified her combat prowess whenever her comrades were in peril.
3. Rin: The Gunslinger
Armed with an ability to summon guns with unlimited bullets, Rin was a formidable force in ranged combat. Her firepower was a crucial asset to the party.
4. Shota: The Tank
Shota’s gift allowed him to endure immense damage, making him an indomitable tank on the battlefield.
Together, they faced a demon more formidable than any they had encountered before—a creature with exceptional durability and the ability to summon hordes of lesser demons. The sheer numbers overwhelmed the party, and one by one, they met their tragic ends.
Despite their formidable abilities, the party found themselves outmatched by the overwhelming strength of the demon they faced. Yuu, driven by his self-sacrificing nature, threw himself into the fray repeatedly to shield his comrades. However, the relentless onslaught proved too much, and he died because the demon managed to kill him more than the number of deaths he could endure in a day.
Riko, fueled by her protective instincts, fought valiantly to shield her friends. As the battle intensified, she faced a relentless barrage of attacks. In a moment of overwhelming force, she was struck down, her strength unable to overcome the demonic onslaught. She died, impaled with her own sword, right through her heart.
