Hello! Here's another story I make!
♡´・ᴗ・'♡In the bustling city of Nova Valis, where skyscrapers pierced the sky and neon lights flickered with electric vigor, superpowers were as common as smartphones. Heroes and villains clashed almost daily, their battles shaking the very foundation of the city. But amidst this superhuman chaos, there was one girl who stood out—not because of her powers, but because she had none.
Alyssa Cruz was an ordinary high school student with an extraordinary sense of duty. At seventeen, she had grown accustomed to the spectacle of caped crusaders and masked marauders. Yet, while her classmates idolized these larger-than-life figures, Alyssa saw the cracks in the heroics. She saw the collateral damage, the shattered lives left in the wake of every epic showdown.
Alyssa’s dislike for superheroes wasn't born out of jealousy. She didn't envy their abilities or their fame. Rather, she resented their selective heroism. They swooped in to battle supervillains, garnering accolades and media attention, but they were often blind to the everyday suffering that plagued the city. The thefts, the assaults, the cries for help that went unanswered because they weren't "big" enough.
One fateful evening, as the sky burned orange with the setting sun, Alyssa made a decision. She couldn't stand by any longer. Armed with a metal bat and a can of pepper spray, she would make her own stand. She wouldn't fight supervillains, but she would protect the people caught in the crossfire and those forgotten by the heroes
The first time Alyssa stepped into the fray, it was a chaotic night. Titan, the city's mightiest hero, was battling Inferno, a fire-wielding villain, in the heart of downtown. Buildings trembled, glass shattered, and fire spread through the streets. Amidst the pandemonium, Alyssa spotted a family trapped under a collapsed billboard. Titan was too busy trading blows with Inferno to notice.
Alyssa's heart pounded as she ran towards the debris. She could hear the faint cries of a child. With every ounce of strength, she wedged her metal bat under the heavy structure, using it as a lever. The bat groaned under the weight, but it held long enough for her to pull the family out. The gratitude in their eyes was all the validation she needed.
From that day on, Alyssa patrolled the city. She had no costume, no secret identity. She was just Alyssa, a girl with a bat and a determination to make a difference. Her reputation grew slowly. She wasn't well-known like Titan or Inferno, but those she saved remembered her. They spoke of a brave girl who appeared out of nowhere, a guardian angel without wings.
Alyssa's nights were spent in the darker corners of Nova Valis, the places heroes rarely ventured. She roamed the alleyways, ever vigilant for the sound of distress. One night, she heard a scream. Following the sound, she found a woman being attacked by a man in a secluded alley.
Without hesitation, Alyssa charged, her metal bat swinging. The attacker, caught off guard, stumbled back as the bat connected with his side. Alyssa's eyes burned with determination. She aimed her pepper spray and unleashed a searing cloud into his face. The man reeled, screaming in pain, and fled into the night.
The woman, tears streaming down her face, clutched Alyssa's arm. "Thank you," she sobbed. "Thank you so much."
Alyssa nodded, her heart heavy but resolute. "You're safe now."
This became Alyssa’s nightly routine. She saved people from muggings, assaults, and other crimes that heroes deemed too insignificant. Each rescue reinforced her belief that while superpowers could move mountains, it was the small acts of courage that truly changed lives.
As Alyssa delved deeper into the city's underbelly, she began to see another side of the story. Not all villains were inherently evil. Some were victims themselves, driven to crime by circumstances beyond their control. She encountered David, a former scientist who turned to theft after his family was killed in a hero-villain clash. The heroes hadn't noticed his plight; they were too busy celebrating their victory.
