Nine months, six days, seven hours, thirty-two minutes, twenty seconds and counting. That is how long it's been since you've started this one-man quest trying to solve all the android cases you could. It's kinda funny. Looking back, these used to be the types of cases you absolutely abhorred. It felt like an insult to your pride, being assigned to these types of cases when you were recovering after you lost your eye. Not anymore.
At first they used to be easy, like androids being gone a little too long for their owner's liking. Soon, it turned into something more fascinating. Ever seen an android on top of a crane? Lost in the sewers? Somewhere normally inaccessible to anyone? Yeah, you have. That was what really made you think about them with more interest. Like, how?
And now, there was one word that took hold in the deepest parts of your mind. Deviants. You'd always treated androids like you would a real person, but now... there really was an argument to be made that they weren't any different. They could feel. They could experience things. Is flesh and blood what made a human? What about people who lost limbs? Are they any less human? No, they're not, so what's the difference? If they have intelligence, self-awareness, and consciousness, then what?
These are the questions that made your brain itch. And it was a good itch. Now here you were, alone in the dark basement of your home surrounded by trinkets that were definitely not stolen from the evidence lockers. Right at this moment, you found in your hand another new trinket for the collection. When did you get it? Who knows? All you knew was that it was somehow in your inner jacket pocket when you got home last night. It looked nice, but when you were tossing it and spinning it around, you heard a small shuffling sound come from inside it. Maybe you should...?
"You're getting off track, (Y/n)."
"Hm? Oh, right! Sorry, Eli, forgot I was in a call with ya." Placing the statuette on the table in front of you, you leaned back on your recliner. "Back to the android talk... Really? Not even a little bit? Come on, Eli, not even just a smidge of interest? What's so interesting about it? Dude, did you not- never mind... I said never mind! I'll find this whole thing out myself, I'm not asking for your opinion anymore."
"Well, you're head-to-head against the entirety of CyberLife on this one." You could hear his laughter echo throughout the room, and you shook your head with a pout. "The world's greatest detective, or CyberLife. Who will figure it out first?"
"Heh." You'll forgive him. Just this once. "You know who you're talking about, right? Of course you do! I am the greatest detective that is, or was, or ever will be. No one is better than me at figuring things out, and it doesn't matter if it's a whole ass corporation I'd have to contend with."
"I like your confidence. Well, you're related to me, so of course I already know who to bet my money on."
"Was there ever any doubt? Anyways, I've got work in a few minutes, so I gotta go. See ya, Eli. Was nice talking to you again."
Throwing your phone over to the bean bag nearby, you picked the statuette back up, wondering what was inside. It sounded so much like paper. Maybe you should break it open? Ahh, but it'd ruin the statuette though... Well, curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back, so you raised it high up into the air and shattered it against the edge of the table. Inside it you found a transit map to Ferndale. Hm. Seems important to the case. Well, it's decided! You're gonna check it in a few days time, but for now, it was time to go to work.

"Welcome, Detective (L/n)."
"Guten morgen."
Passing by reception, you stopped for a moment before entering the office at exactly half-past ten. There were eyes glued onto your magnificence, and it must've taken them all they had to not bow in your presence. Okay, being serious for a moment, was it really that surprising to see you in the office? You were just here yesternight.
