Alec Lawler works in international business and is an athlete that performs show jumping. He has participated in show jumping competitions at the greatest levels in both North America and Europe, where he has taken home multiple honors and prizes, including the National Grand Prix of Woodside in 2022. He is being charged with eleven felonies for allegedly soliciting a juvenile student, and he has also been accused of sexually abusing a minor. Lawler was placed as ineligible to compete by the U.S. Equestrian Federation on January 6, and on January 11 the U.S. Center for SafeSport announced a temporary suspension due to "allegations of misconduct." Lawler was taken into custody on January 5, 2023, at the Desert International Horse Park. He is employed and resides in San Mateo County, California.
