The moment I passed the welcome sign I felt my body getting overwhelmed. I haven't been home in awhile the day I walked out the house was the last day I was seen in Mystic Falls. I moved to New York and started a new life I worked at this bar called the sip. I know what everyone is thinking how did a teenager work in a bar? I had a fake I'd plus me and the owner became very close. I met my best friend Maggie there as well. the moment her and I met we became two peas in a pod.

I parked my car in the driveway of my childhood home. The house on the outside looked the same as it did before. I sat back on my seat and just looked at my parents dark bedroom window. My mom use to always have some light on in their room. I looked at my window and seen the bedroom was open I can see the hallway light on. I opened my car door stepped out and looked around the quite block. back then in the summertime almost every neighbor was outside watering their grass or having small get together. I didn't take my suitcase out the car I didn't know how this small interaction will go. Jenna and I got into a bad argument the day I left. Elena and Jeremy didn't tell me goodbye they were at school when I left. I couldn't see them cry especially Elena. I Walked up the driveway and each step I took I had some small flashback of my mom and dad. I knocked on the front door

"Coming!" I heard Elena yell out. Her and I have always been close when we were growing up. we lied for each other and even use to pretend to be each other once in awhile especially when it was time for me to do any kind of math test in high school. The front door opens and Elena and I come face to face. "Am..Ama...Amanda?" She says as she gives me a bear hug. " You're here. You're really here."

"Hey twin." I say as I hugged her back. We had so many nicknames we use to call each other back then but her and I settled on twin because that's what the school and our parents use to call us. We pulled apart and I seen my best friend Bonnie standing next to Elena. "Bonnie." she gave me a hug. Elena, Bonnie, Carolina and I have always been friends but I was closer to Bonnie then Carolina. We pulled apart and I glanced inside. The furniture was different and so was the paint. Elena steps aside and I walk inside. "My bags in the car." I say as I looked around the Livingroom. I walked over to the fireplace and seen a family picture. I picked up the photo and just looked at it. My parents were the best my mom always made sure we had everything and anything we wanted. my dad worked a lot when we were kids but over the years my dad slowed down with work. He stared being more present. I was closer to my mom then my dad. my dad really didn't know me like he knew Elena.

"its weird at first." Elena says snapping me out of my thoughts. I put the photo back.

"So what have I missed?" I say as we sat on the couch.

"Matt and I broke up." Elena says.

"He was moving to fast." Bonnie says and I laughed. "Elena you know it's true."

"Matt has always been like that." I say. "So that's all that happened?"

"We have a new student." Bonnie says. "And he like Elena." Elena smacked Bonnie's leg.

"What's his name? Is he cute?" I asked.

"His name is Stefan Salvatore and he's really cute." Elena says. "he's coming over for dinner."

"Who's cooking?" I asked as I looked at Elena then at Bonnie.

"Elena ordered some food." Bonnie says.

"And what time is dinner?" I say as I stand up. "Am I invited?"

"Its in an hour maybe two." Elena says. "Bonnie will you help me in the kitchen?" Bonnie nods and I make my way upstairs. The hallway still had photos on the walls. It looked the same and yet different at the same time. I walked into my old bedroom and turned on the light. My bedroom was still the same my dad use to always say he was gonna paint my grey walls white but he never did. I walked over to my bed and tossed my bag down. On the nightstand was a old picture of Tyler and I kissing next to that photo was our family photo. Every year my parents made sure we took family photos for their Christmas cards.
