** Rae's POV

It has been a month since May and Aleah started school. At first they were very apprehensive meeting new people, but they quickly grew accustomed. Probably due to meeting more kids their age. Unfortunately, Ralaire had to hide inside May's pouch to continue neutralizing their curse, at the same time to avoid getting attention from the other kids. The stories they tell when they get home are always fun to listen to. During dinner, May told us about an incident earlier.

"Mother Claire, Connie from class was dared to open the storage house that we were told to not enter."

"He still went inside anyways!"

"Aleah! I wanted to finish the story!"

"You were too slow, May."

"Now girls, no fighting. Also, if someone is speaking, it is rude to interrupt them. The polite way is to wait your turn and let them finish. Understand?"

Claire scolded them. She's really adapted to motherhood.

""Yes Mother Claire""

"I'm sorry May"

"I forgive Aleah!"

The two shook hands. They are just too adorable. Ralaire next to them bounces up and down, happy they have reconciled. I gave her some cookies. I do miss the days where she sits on my shoulder.

"So what happened to Connie?"

I asked them getting back on topic.

"After he got inside, he left crying and screaming!"

"Oh my, did something happen to him?"

"He said he saw a.. do you remember what he said Aleah?"

"I remember! He said he saw a ghost!"

CLINK-

A loud sound of a teacup falling was heard. I look towards Claire and her face looked pale. My teasing meter has started ticking seeing her face.

"Are you perhaps, still scared of ghosts, Claire-sama?"

"S-s-scared?! Of course n-not! T-t-there is no such thing as g-g-ghosts!"

She crosses her arms, but completely flustered. This tough act of hers always triggers my sadistic tendencies. I just want to keep teasing her, but...

"Are ghosts scary?"

"Will they hurt us?"

The twins look worried. Oh no, I probably shouldn't continue.

"No girls, ghosts aren't real. The real ones are called Undead. Those are monsters that we..."

"Rae!"

Claire rebuked me. After saying that, the girls looked even more frightened. Oh dear I was careless. I had to change the mood immediately.

"Anyways Connie must've been mistaken in what he saw. It's nothing for you girls to worry about. You also have Claire-sama and I here to protect you."

I puffed out my chest and put my hands on my hips showing confidence.

"Promise ghosts won't come to get us?"

"They won't take May and Aleah from Mother Rae and Mother Claire?"
