My throat was burning... I was gasping for air, feeling sharp scrapes against my abdomen.

I let out a sharp gasp, as I saw my guts spilling out from my chest down to my lower abdominal area. My pink and red intestines were cut out, flopping out of my body and on to the concrete with a disgusting "squish", and the muscles still pulsating on the ground.

I couldn't do anything, it was too late, my vision was blurry, and I couldn't breathe, and as I was swept away to the light, all I could hear was crazed laughter, an unholy cackle, one that would give you nightmares...

{Readers POV}

"What a beautiful day... Too bad I got kicked out..." I whispered to myself. I placed my hands under my arms, hoping to warm them up since it was almost winter.

I was wearing a white coat, that surprisingly went well with my (E/C) eyes, as well as jeans that fit my figure well.

The cold wind nipped at my rosy cheeks, and bit at my red nose.

I was walking to my friends house, thankful they were going to let me stay until I could support myself on my own. I took a left turn on the sidewalk, waiting for the pedestrian walk sign, then crossing the road.

By now, my ears were red too since I hadn't gotten much from my parents, and what was left in my room.

About 4 minutes later, my friends house came into view, and I jogged the rest of the way, coming onto her porch and entering the house.

Her mom noticed me, and greeted me, kissing me on the forehead and hugging me.

"Hi ma" I say to her. She was like a second mother to me, since I might as well have known her my whole life.

"Hello, (Y/N). Lovely day we have here, minus the fact it's freezing out there. Speaking of freezing, your face is so red, I'll make you and Sammy some hot chocolate. She's upstairs, by the way"

I nod, thanking her and leaving her warm embrace. I then move towards the stairs, looking as clean as ever, same for the entire house.

Placing my hand on the railing, I jog up the stairs and down the familiar hallway down to Samantha's room.

"Oh Sammy, I'm home, not even gonna give your sister a hug?" I could practically hear her perk up from inside her room when she heard my voice. She opened the door, a cheeky smile on her face.

She jumped on me, hugging and embracing me against her, gaining a chuckle from me.

"I missed you so much (Y/N), and I'm sorry about the situation at home, but I'm here as a shoulder to cry on." She smiled at me slowly backing away to let me breathe.

I put my hand on her shoulder. "I know, and I'll be your shoulder to cry on as well."

I caught myself staring at the plain white ceiling, examining every tiny crack that I could see. I sat up from my laying position quite fast, giving myself a mini head-ache. It was a normal one, but I had ringing in my ear.

I had been up all night, and I couldn't sleep, like I was tired, but I didn't want to go to sleep.

I swung my legs over the bedside, and stood up, slowly this time. I had on my furry PJ pants, and I pulled a coat over my arms, pulling the zipper up to my collar bone.

I slipped my gloves on, grabbing my phone and stuffing it into my soft pockets.

Soon, I held the door knob between my gloved fingers, twisting it and opening the door.

I closed it behind me, and stood on the porch, looking out to the road.

My friends house was next to a city, so I stepped over to the side walk, bringing myself to walk along the road.

I came to a sloped hill, going down the bumpy road. I felt the cold air grasp and nip at my cheeks once again. I exhaled, my breath making a small cloud in the air that disappeared after a few seconds, running my hand through my (H/L) (H/C) hair, relishing in the calm feeling wafting through the air...

Until I heard the scream.

That awful blood curdling scream.

My eyes shot open wide, stopping in my tracks, and looking towards the maker of the terrible noise.

Down an alleyway, a dark one at that.

It sounded like a child, a scared and confused child.

Laughter was heard after, scary, menacing laughter. Laughter that could give you nightmares.

I didn't know what I was doing, but I was doing it. I took quick steps into the alleyway, now sprinting around the corner.

And what I saw was nerve wracking. It was terrifying, and I couldn't take my eyes off of the scene.

OOOooOo! Things are getting interesting!

I had fun writing this, and I'm sorry for the cliffhanger, I just had too, I can imagine everyone's face being so angry, though I doubt this is a very good book.

I also didn't want to just jump right into it. I wanted some anticipation and tension. I also wanted to let y'all know what was happening in Y/N's life before we got into it with Jack.

I just feel like I should describe things in more detail, as I am trying to draw in my readers. Words affect people more than actions.😉
