*Lisa's POV*

I couldn't understand what was going through Y/N at all. Though she told me she'd tell me after our date today, seeing her restless was making me uneasy for some reason.

I haven't seen her like this in the three years I have known her.

I was sitting on my chair, struggling through my day, waiting for the clock to hit six so we could go on with our date.

However, around afternoon, she called me into her office urgently. When I got in, she was preparing to go somewhere.

"You are going somewhere?" I asked, creasing my eyebrows.

"Yeah, um, I... I need to go out." She responded. She sounded anxious for some reason.

"Are you coming back here... or...?"

"I don't know for sure now. I will let you know." I nodded.

Y/N walked closer to me and pulled me closer to her. The smell of her woody cologne invaded my senses as I stared back at her dark orbs searching for something.

She looked so worried.

"Go back home safe, okay?" She whispered to me. I nodded again.

"You will be okay?" I asked, and I saw her swallow hard.

"Yeah." She paused. "Lisa, I... I lo-" Her eyes welled, and she clenched her jaw.

What's going on with her? And what was she about to say?

"I need to go." Y/N leaned in and kissed me on my lips. She was eager, like she had always been, but something felt different. She held me so possessively, yet delicately, and deepened our kiss slowly. "Bye." She whispered against my lips before walking past me.

For the rest of the day, I didn't hear from her. I waited, hoping she'd at least text me, but nothing came. I only tried calling her two times, but she didn't pick up. I didn't want to raise any suspicion if she was with her family or anyone else, so I only texted her. But my countless texts were left unanswered.

I just wanted to know if she was okay.

I didn't know when I drifted off to sleep, waiting for her.

The following morning, I woke up late. Though it was a Saturday, we had work. We work during the first Saturday every month. So, I had to rush through my morning routine and run to get to the company. I barely made it on time.

Jennie and Somi were giggling about something as I got there.

"Morning, Girls!" I chirped.

"Hey! Morning, Lisa. Want some tea?" Jennie asked cockily.

"Well, spill, Babe." I responded with the same enthusiasm.

"Our boss is getting engaged." Jennie and Somi said at the same time.

My smile dropped. Did I hear the right?

"Wh- what do you mean?"

"Yeah. Her marriage is fixed. Everyone is talking about it." My cat-eyed friend explained. "You know our business partner, Mr. Myoi? It's his daughter, Mina. All of them are currently in the conference room." She said.

My breathing had become uneven by now, but I was about to go into the conference room when Mr. Y/L/N and Mr. Myoi showed up. Behind them, Y/N walked in, and a short girl with black hair and downturned, soft eyes was beside her, interlocking her hands with her.

I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists.

So this is what she wanted to tell me!

"Attention, everyone." Mr. Myoi announced, and all of the employees turned to them. "Let me introduce you all to my dear daughter, Mina Myoi, the future wife of your respected CEO and the new CFO of Infinity Constructions." He introduced.
