Keefe didn't sleep that night. He was trying to sleep in the guest room in the floor below. "What can I do to fix this?" he kept saying to himself. Eventually, he couldn't take it anymore. He went up the stairs into Amy's room. "Amy?" he called to the dark room. "Yea?" Amy replied right away, getting up from her desk, she looked like she hadn't been sleeping either. "You couldn't sleep too?" she asked, trying not to look at his bags under his eyes. "Haven't slept in days. I keep thinking on how to help your mom." he said, looking in the mirror. "I think I might know how, but it won't be easy. You see......" Amy began, turning on the lights in her room.
Keefe and Amy talked for an hour, then going into the kitchen to eat some snacks while they planned a strategy. By the time the sun was rising, they had a plan. Even though Amy wasn't as strong as Sophie, she was going to go into Sophie's mind while (trying) to bring Keefe with her. And Fitz and Mr. Forkle would be giving her mental boosts. This wouldn't be an easy task, but she would do anything to get her mom back.
Later that morning, Keefe, Amy, Mr. Forkle, Fitz (still not gonna say councillor), and Elwin all met in Sophie's room. Grady and Edaline wanted to come as well, but Keefe wouldn't allow them in. Not yet. Amy took a deep breath before grabbing her dad's hand, and going into her mom's mind.
It felt different than before, more cold. She looked around, before seeing her father by her side. "OH MY GOODNESS IT WORKED!!"
