A sudden jolt causes me to wake. I sit up quickly and take a look around at my surroundings. I see my mom looking back at me in the rearview mirror with an apologetic look on her face.
"Sorry, someone cut us off, made me stop a bit faster than I would have liked. You can go back to sleep if you want, or maybe we can stop for some food. You hungry?"
Now that I think about it I could go for some [Favourite Fast Food Place]
"Yeah, I'm a little hungry. Are you alright with going to [Favourite Fast Food Place]
"Alright, I'm good with that. Start thinking about what you want then. Next one is gonna be coming up in about 15 or 20 minutes depending on traffic."
I settle back into the car-seat and put my earphones back in. As I'm looking out of the car window I start to think about what going back to our hometown will be like. Will they remember me? Is the person dad cheated with still living there? Will they meet up again? What's going to happen if she is still there?
"-ey, hey."
I snap out of my thoughts due to my mom shaking my arm. I look around and see that we've arrived at the fast food place.
"Oh shit, uh can I have [your favourite order]?'
"Knew you were gonna say that, but yeah," She laughs a little and starts telling the person over the speaker my part of the order.
Once she finishes, she drives up to the second window. We get our food and drinks and go to park in the lot and eat. I open my food and start ABSOLUTELY DEVOURING THAT SCRUMDILLYUMPTIOUS ASS FOOD.
[Scrumdillyumptious just means good, it's not a real word. Let me know if I should change that if it makes this story too complicated or just not as good in general]
"I love this place, never gonna get tired of it." I think while I finish the last bite. I ball up my trash and put it in the bag/container it came in.
"Thanks for lunch. Do you know when we're gonna get there?' I ask.
"We should be there in about 3 to 4 hours I think."
"Alright, I'm gonna go back to sleep then. Wake me when we get there?'
"Sure, I will, goodnight" She says while slightly smiling.
"Goodnight." I smile back at her.
I lay back down in the back car seat with my earphones playing [your favourite song] and fall asleep once again waiting to arrive at our hometown.

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!! I know it isn't much but a lot has happened and I'm trying to ease my way back into writing. Next chapter we will be moving into our new house and a few new point of views will be popping up!

Vent/Rant Update
I'm feeling slightly better after the passing of my dog Moose. The Holidays were hard without him, it also feels very weird going into the new year without him. Although I know he is no longer in pain. I still love and miss him dearly. Thanks for all the support the past few months!
