that night peter invited ned over to talk about his new feelings towards their best friend. "are you sure you like her. i mean it may be because you haven't talked to her in awhile and you miss being around her right?" ned asked worried. as much as he thought that peter and y/n would be cute together, it would be super weird in the group if they broke up or worse, if peter leaves ned all alone with mj. ned and mj can not hang out for over 12 minutes by themselves. mj found that making fun of ned can get rid of her boredom, which she happened to have a lot of.

also if peter did ask out y/n and she said no, ned knows how heartbroken peter would be. ned hates to see his best friend upset, so he believes that talking peter out of his feelings would help him in the long run. yes kinda crazy that ned, his best friend, is trying to gaslight him out of liking a girl. "uh maybe? oh yeah! yup. i haven't talked to her a lot and i miss her, so my feelings are happy to see her and stuff?" peter says trying to make it reasonable. ned nodded in agreement about to say something before he as cut off by peters ringtone.

 peter picked up his phone before letting out a loud sigh. ned look at him with a looked that asking 'who is it'. peter flashed his phone to ned that gave him the 'oh' look. peter fixed his hair before answering the call and putting it on speaker. "hey parker" y/n said cheerfully putting a smile on peters face. "hey ari." peter responded with the same amount of cheer in his voice making y/n smile brightly. "so im here with mj-" y/n started before getting cut off by mj who said hello into the microphone.

 peter chuckled before saying "and im here with ned. ned say hi" ned looked at peter before saying a happy hello. y/n started back up again. "hey ned. anyway we were wondering if you boys would like to go and get some food. it will be on you guys though." y/n finally let out. peter looked over at ned and shrugged. ned nodded before saying into the phone "ok met us at parkers" y/n let out a small 'mhm' and said goodbye before hanging up the phone.

peter looked at ned before they quickly started looking for money. about 10-15 minutes later they hear the door. peter and ned rushed out peter's room trying to leave the house. peter stop to say goodbye to his aunt may and left the house. "hello ladies" peter said while locking his front door. the females gave him a quick hello, but y/n also gave him a small smile. as they start walking to find somewhere to eat they start a small conversation. peter and ned walked slightly behind y/n and mj. y/n saw this before letting out a small chuckle and smiled before saying "are you two making out back there or something". 

mj let out a loud laugh at y/n's joke and gave her a big high-five. "hahaha. you know ariana, you should become a clown." peter said while rolling his eyes. he couldn't help but smile at the younger girls antics. ned noticed this and looked at peter than told him to check his phone. 

ned saw how much peter liked y/n and felt bd for trying to keep him from opening that door in his life. ned had texted peter telling him go for it. peter smiled at the text and went up to y/n and rapped his arm around her shoulder while listening to them talk about tv girl and lana del rey.
