ꕥSALEM yawned, climbing out of her bed. She wished she could stay there forever, but practice was in forty five minutes; so she needed to get ready.
"Ugh." She huffed.
It was Wednesday and for some reason Wednesday's were the hardest day of the week for her. It was like she could almost taste the weekend, but wasn't quite there yet.
But in her case, all she had to do was get through today and tomorrow and she would be on the next flight out to Boulder, celebrating her birthday weekend.
Grabbing her phone and backpack, she picked up her keys from the hook and was out the door.
It was only a 5 minute walk to the sports facility, so in no time she was there.
"I'm so tired bro, like it's not even funny." She complained to her athletic trainer, as she got her foot taped. It was the off season right now, so practice wasn't as intense but it was definitely still hard. She was sore, and tired.
But hey, this is what she signed up for.
"You got this babe! two more practices and than you can leave and you can enjoy your weekend, birthday girl!" Sasha, one of her athletic trainers said.
Salem smiled, "Not my birthday yet."
"Alright ladies let's get this day going!" The head coach announced, walking into the ladies locker room.
Salem silently cursed to herself. Not fully mentally prepared for practice.
"Alright thanks Sash, i'll see you later." Salem thanked, and she was off to the field.

Two long hours later, the girls had finished soccer practice. "Finally." Salem practically sang out, so happy that practice was over.
"Alright girls i'm out! Love y'all." She announced.
No less than ten minutes later she was back in her apartment.
Salem was weirdly enough not as tired as she thought she would be. Sometimes after practice she gets a weird rush of adrenaline, and i guess today that was happening.
So she instantly thought of cleaning. It wasn't like she was a clean freak or anything, but she definitely liked a tidy space. So she changed into some comfortable clothes, put on a playlist, and got to deep cleaning her entire apartment.
"What does love got do with it,"She hummed to Tina Turner, twirling around her kitchen.
From top to bottom she sprayed, scrubbed, swept, every area. She felt good, it had been a minute since she had just jammed out to music and enjoyed time to herself. A plus was that she got a clean apartment out of it.
Salem squealed, clapping her hands to together. Just proud of herself.
Lately Salem had felt off.
In her words life just wasn't lifeing.
A weird funk had came over her a couple weeks ago and she tried everything to get out of it but nothing. So it was nice to feel like everything was coming together.
Her mother always told her that life is always better when you're smiling, and for the first time in a few weeks she felt like she could.
