Lee Minho and Moon Nabi were in the same high school and after 7 years, they happen to be working for the same project. That doesn't sound bad until you know they are each other's exes!

"We were too close to the stars. I never knew somebody like you"
"So are you not gonna confess him?" Dahyun asks as she takes a bite of her popsicle.
"Confess? Let him do it first" I said as I opened my pack of chips.
"Come on! Both of you know you like each other. Just confess him already" she whined.
"You said it yourself. Both of us know it so why don't he say it first?"
"Moon Nabi, stop being so stubborn. You both are 17, compatible and you guys look cute together. And on top of that, you are bold enough to say it first. Why are you acting like you are in some 80s movie?"
"Nah... it won't be fun that way".

"Hey, Nabi. Do you have time for a movie today?" Minho asked while we were heading towards school.
"Movie? When?"
"6 PM"
"Umm.. sure"
"Okay. I'll wait for you at the school gate. Don't forget okay?"
"Okay. I'll meet you later then" I say and moved to my classroom.
Time skip
"Hey, Minho! I'm here" I jumped in excitement.
"Let's go then" he said as he held my hand. Oh my god! I think he's finally making a move. I was blushing but I tried to not show it and held his hand back. We reached the theatre and were seated in our seats beside each other. The movie was pretty interesting. Both of us enjoyed the movie and came out of the theatre.
"The movie was good, right?" He asked while smiling.
"Yeah, it didn't bore me at all" I said. Soon it started raining. "Oh! Minho, let's go there!" I said as I was pointing towards a convenience store. We both held hands and headed to the store. I was looking for some cup noodles to take home and Minho was looking for something too.
"Nabi" Minho said and I turned towards him and saw him holding my favourite cup noodles pack in his hand.
"Oh Minho! I was searching for them too-" before I could finish my sentence, he fell on his knees.
"Moon Nabi! I really like you. Let's date!"
There was a moment of silence. And he was still on his knees waiting for a reply. It was so sudden that my mind took some time to process. And as I realised, I started laughing. He looked at me with confusion.
"So you are confessing me with a cup noodles pack?"
"It's your favourite cup noodles!" He got up and stood straight.
"You are so silly! I like you too!" I said and kissed him on his cheek.

1 year later
"Nabi! Why did you want to meet me so suddenly?"
I turned around and hugged him tightly in excitement.
"Nabi? What happened? Why are you so excited? Did something good happened?" He asked with a smile.
"Minho! I got accepted in my dream university!" I said.
"Wow ! That's a great thing! Where is it?"
"It's in the US"
"US?" His smile dropped. "Why? I mean why not somewhere here?"
"It's my dream university. That's why I chose it instead any universities in here. What do you mean why?" I asked.
"Then you and I wouldn't be physically together"
"It's perfectly okay, Minho. Even though we can't be together physically, we can call each other every day. You know long distance right?" I said with a smile.
"No. I don't think I can handle long distance." He said while let going my hands.
"Minho? You don't trust me?"
"I trust you but I wouldn't trust people around you... or the circumstances"
"What? That's ridiculous. You know me, right? I'll be careful. What's the problem? I don't get it!" I shouted.
"I'm scared. Okay? I'm scared. I have attachment issues and you know them. You can call me insecure but that's the reality. But all you do is think about yourself but don't put any of my words into consideration."
Ouch. It hurt.
"So what are you saying? Leave my dream life for you?"
"Oh! I get it. I'm not worthy for that right? I guess that will be it" he said and started walking away.
"Minho! Wait. What are you thinking? Why are you walking away?"
"I can't do this anymore, Nabi"
"Wait.... are you suggesting that we .... break up?"
"If that's what it takes"
That hurt my heart. Tear drops started to fall from my eyes.
"Oh.. looks like I'm the only one who wants to fix this" I say while wiping my tears off my face.
"Nabi" he tried to get closer.
"No. No, don't come any closer. I'm scared i might change my mind if you come any closer" I said and left. I started running to my house feeling heartbroken and crying. I have my flight in few hours.
I left the country with a heavy heart and tried to calm myself saying it'll be okay.
